Hey guys, can someone advise me on how to get my email via internet. I am currently in a distant land. My email account is with teksavvy. When I try to get access to email via internet, I get an error message that says:

"Page cannot be displayed.

Access denied.

IceWarp
400 access denied."

When I was just in a neighbouring country, I didn't have any problem. But since I got here, I can't get in. Anyone know how to get around this little problem?

Thanks,

-Q-

It's probably protection kicking in. Its unusual to have a foreign IP (outside of North America) trying to access your email. Better to be safe. You'll have to contact them if twister's suggestion doesn't work.

You should have a page from teksavy that you should be able to access with a login name and password. like this one: https://webmail.teksavvy.com/mail/
This why my email is with gmail, I can access it from anywhere in the world.
Yes, that is exactly where I try to log on. That is where I get the no access message.

I think you are right about that. I tried looking for on line tech support, but I can only find a phone number, and I don't feel like paying for a long distance phone call and waiting on hold for 15 minutes. I find it puzzling that in the neighbouring country that I was just in, I could log on no problem, but from here no way. I guess I will call tech support when I get back and see what they say, but I now think it is a teksavvy security issue. Maybe they've been hacked from here in the past, or something.

Are you using some sort of VPN or proxy service?
Translation? LOL I am using wifi on my laptop. Beyond that, its just magic to me. I've also tried internet cafes but had the same problem.

I am using yahoo to send and receive email, but it would be nice to be able to check my regular account, that's all.

Thanks for all your replies.

The reason I ask that is because some ISPs may deny access from a foreign IP address or an IP address known to be used by spammers. So, if you're in let's say, Russia (which may or may not have a ton of spammers or even Vietnam) then TekSavvy may not allow access or if your IP address is one provided by a VPN service or from a web proxy then that IP address may also be blacklisted by TekSavvy.

It's probably common enough to see their customers in the States that they will allow that traffic without needing to validate. Teksavvy is trying to balance convenience and security for their customers.

I think their support line is open 24/7. I remember calling them about an issue I had at around 2am EST. I got someone within a few minutes and the issue was promptly resolved.

Also, if they're blocking webmail account, you could try setting up your computer / phone's IMAP account in whatever mail client you have. It shouldn't harm your webmail in any way. They should have instructions for that on their site. My only real suggestion is that if you have windows use Mozilla Thunderbird not Outlook. Yeah, I know, webmail is convenient, but an IMAP account and a proper mail client can do a lot more, and they've gotten a lot cleaner and easier to use.

The teksavvy site mentioned pop3 email (which will work but is worse than IMAP), but a number of websites mention that IMAP should work (and should just be a matter of toggling the POP3 to IMAP). Do your google-fu. Even then, a proper mail client still might be blocked.
