Well, what do you know. Some of them do have a social conscience.

They can give it all to the homeless person on the corner or do what the late Glenn Davis and the still very much alive Seymour Schluich(sp) and other rich people have done.. But, they should not advocate that the STATE confiscate private wealth by taxation or other means. There is nothing stopping them from sharing their wealth.
Warren Buffett disagrees with you. I'll take his financial advice over yours any day. But, they should not advocate that the STATE confiscate private wealth by taxation or other means.
The basic premise of a "state" includes the power to tax. If you wish to live in a "stateless" place...feel free. They can give it all to the homeless person on the corner or do what the late Glenn Davis and the still very much alive Seymour Schluich(sp) and other rich people have done.. But, they should not advocate that the STATE confiscate private wealth by taxation or other means.
I think you have missed the message entirely.Judging from the numbers you see in news report etc it would appear that the protesters are the 1% and the non-protesters are the 99% despite the fact that what they are protesting about is a shopping list depending on the individual.
And you should check the poll results on the popularity of the movement, not just the numbers of people on the street at this very early point in the movement.Judging from the numbers you see in news report etc it would appear that the protesters are the 1% and the non-protesters are the 99% despite the fact that what they are protesting about is a shopping list depending on the individual.
The point is that people who come to money easily (get lucky or inherit it) often take it for granted and have distain for it.....I think you have missed the message entirely.
And that people who are in the middle class or poor have less chance now than before to move up on the merits. The point is that people who come to money easily (get lucky or inherit it) often take it for granted and have distain for it.....
OTB
Not surprising considering the plethera of themI think you have missed the message entirely.
Warren is free, as are you, to do what he wants with his money but don't tell me what I should do with my money (as meager as it is). We don't live in Cuba.Warren Buffett disagrees with you. I'll take his financial advice over yours any day.
You do realize the American fought a revolution over taxes. On the other hand, I think that lottery winnings should be taxed 120% and there should be some kind of tax on inter-generation transfer of wealth (in addition to the current capital gains tax). The basic premise of a "state" includes the power to tax.
I do. And the motto was "no taxation without representation." not "no taxation." They were upset by, among other things, the fact that that they were taxed but could not vote. You do realize the American fought a revolution over taxes. There's something happening here What it is ain't exactly clear There's a man with a gun over there Telling me I got to beware ....
You could always move somewhere like Somalia, where there is no government to collect taxes from you.Warren is free, as are you, to do what he wants with his money but don't tell me what I should do with my money (as meager as it is). We don't live in Cuba.
Typical stupid post from you again, i think most of the posts against taxation here isn't because of the actual existence of taxes, it's because of every liberal's knee jerk reaction to increase taxation on people who are supposedly the "rich", who feel they are taxed enough already. You could always move somewhere like Somalia, where there is no government to collect taxes from you.
Unless you really do want to live somewhere safe, with publicly paid roads, schools et al.
Then you have to be told what to do with your money.
The current discussion has just about nothing to do with knee jerk liberalism.Typical stupid post from you again, i think most of the posts against taxation here isn't because of the actual existence of taxes, it's because of every liberal's knee jerk reaction to increase taxation on people who are supposedly the "rich", who feel they are taxed enough already.
Schools, roads, security all should be paid for... I think the sticking point if you haven't noticed are entitlements and military spending so you can take your act back to the Israel vs palestine threads, they miss you there.
