basically what you have here is hundreds of Cindy Sheen's who will go away if Obama wins the election.

Listen to the messages they have and decide if you disagree.

The funny thing about that protest is there is no goal, no agenda, no message just angst.... and not much of it given the size of the sustaining crowd.

OTB
LMAO!!!!

And this makes them sooo different from your teabaggers because???....:eyebrows:

The wall street protests, similar to the Tahrir square protests in Egypt, both were started for economic issues. Both started out without clear goals.
But the difference is that in Egypt more people went on the street, they got more press and the government fell under their pressure.
There, the army was on the side of the people, since they are a conscription based force, not professional like the US.
In the states, they've kept the wall street protests off the news and and now are starting mass arrests.

There is NO DOUBT if it gets violent the US Military will be willing to slaughter their fellow americans. But that could ignite a storm of violence across the US as the civilian population is pretty heavily armed.

They have done it in the past...remember Kent State? Remember Waco? And of course, remember the Civil War? Americans have shown again and again they will kill fellow Americans with little hesitation.

His assessment is more spot on than yours.
Americans are awash in popguns and weapons. Many are shot now on a daily basis. Just imagine how many more there will be when the peasants are aroused and come looking for justice with their torches, pitchforks and assault weapons!...

And where precisely is the storm of violence across the US that you claim would occur in the aftermath of such an event? Kent State was 40 years ago, with 4 deaths and 9 wounded. I don't recall a storm of violence caused by those events in the intervening 40 years.

The Civil War was a war, not a civil protest. How does that logically compare to the events on Wall St today, or Kent State 40 years ago?

But that's just it. THEY WON'T. Your well-armed peasantry are in fact deeply reactionary and show themselves to be increasingly willing to let the government run roughshod over them. every year the conservative elements in your country convince people to vote against their own best interests, and they do.

The American people do not have a violent revolutionary composition, and havent for years. Your television programs and easy access to credit cards make it virtually impossible that a critical mass of people will choose to risk everything in their very comfortable, overweight lives. they'll just complain about it for a ferw hours, then THEY'LL GO BACK TO WORK, just as the elites want them to.

That's exactly it, the sheer volume in Egypt was overwhelming.
They're keeping them quiet early and fast with quick arrests and the media not giving them THAT much attention to spur interest.
Nothing will come of this.

So much for this "liberal media" bullshit we keep hearing others carp on about. lol

Discontent was not as wide spread at the time. After Waco you did get the Oklahoma bombing... and after Kent State : Just five days after the shootings, 100,000 people demonstrated in Washington, D.C., against the war and the killing of unarmed student protesters. Ray Price, Nixon's chief speechwriter from 1969–1974, recalled the Washington demonstrations saying, "The city was an armed camp. The mobs were smashing windows, slashing tires, dragging parked cars into intersections, even throwing bedsprings off overpasses into the traffic down below. Students throughout the US went on strike. This was over 4 killings. While I fully believe that the US military will kill Americans, I also fully believe Americans will not tolerate being violently suppressed by their government.

I do not believe we have free market capitalism, we have corporate socialism.

A ghastly mistake - you don't send what at that time were under-trained troops for riot duty with live ammunition.

Remember Waco?
The civil not the military authority.

Why not for the Revolution which in fact was much more a 'Civil War' than the U.S. Civil War, and of course part of the foundation of Canada. Gee all those blood thirsty people in poor peaceful Canada :rolleyes

Finally what are some of you people smoking - these morons the beginning of widespread civil disobedience in the U.S.

I didn't say Canadian's wouldn't kill Canadians.. do you think the civil and military forces operate in a bubble? Was Kent State a mistake or a "message"?

Was Kent State a mistake or a "message"?
Every report I've ever read shows it was certainly not a planed action.

Further if it was a "message" it must only have been the Governor of Ohio's message since these were Ohio Army National Guard troops acting under state not federal authority.
