Hmmm. She wasn't a major star but she kept working and re-inventing herself. Porn was only a part of her career. Sad to hear she died of cervical cancer.
Gary Burghoff did not get any big roles during the original run of M*A*S*H and only played a secondary role in After M*A*S*H. When he left M*A*S*H, he did the usual star thing like buy houses and boats. Years later when he figured out that there was no demand for his acting he had spent all his money. He later took people out ocean fishing on his boat to make money on fishing charters. One trick he used was to go to the local fish wholesaler and get the fish guts and freeze it into a block of ice. He would tow the block of frozen fish guts behind his boat to chum the waters to attract fish.
Not so. Paul Muni and Louise Rainer who were both european actors in the 30's, 40's and 50's, both won Academy Awards.
J. Edgar Hoover was a grandstander. He joined the FBI when it was a small organization of under 1000 people. He was pretty much an administrator and did little field work. He rose up in the organization because he was a brown noser and back stabber. Hoover publicized all events that the FBI was involved in and make minor incidents big and minimize goofs the FBI would make. He used Hollywood to build his own image and the image of the FBI. He got national coverage for events that were local news. He especially capitalized on the events in cases that involved infamous gangsters like Pretty Boy Floyd and Bonny and Clyde. He never acknowledged that the Mafia existed. It is speculation that the mob may have had dirt on Hoover and could expose him as being dirty himself or over his cross dressing and homosexuality.
Tires were made that cost over $10,000 each. These tires were not made to go into space nor were they for huge construction machinery. Why were they made and why the excessive cost.
I believe tires for an F1 car cost about $10,000 a set..... But tires for the Bugatti Veyron are about $37,500 a set... so almost $10k each. Every 4th tire change, you have to change the wheel as well, at a cost of $11,500 a wheel - not sure if that is for the rim and the tire or just the rim, but with the cost of things on this car I am guessing just the rim.....
