I went last year for the first time in 10/12 years and was I shocked. It's no longer the agricultural fair of the past with token farm industry displays and competitions, none of the BIG famous amusement rides and after $20(?) ticket and $20(?) parking, it was a rip off. There's nothing I need to see that badly.

No big amusement rides anymore? What happened to the Ferris Wheel, the Wild Mouse and the Roller Coaster? I like to take my grandson.

Don't forget the Bulova Tower, best meeting place to meet up with others, sadly demolished years ago.

and what about the games barker who said "Doggy , Doggy!, Doggy Doggy!", he still around?

rides were bigger when we were younger =) the midway is still there. I've never trusted CNE rides, though. One always breaks down every year. There's always wonderland for rides.

i go at least once a year, so yes, i'm going! I'm gonna try the krispy kreme cheese burger! The deep fried butter was weak, just timbits with melted butter inside. Same with the chocolate covered bacon, and the deep fried mac n cheese.

CNE to me is the international building where you can bargain and get cool stuff, the gambling, and the food building. Girls are extra ;)

Yeah I go every year. Call me sentimental but I've been going every year since I was a little kid and summer just isn't the same if I don't go at least once. And I still love the butter sculptures and the polar express! :)

Where is Schlitzy from the sideshow tent????? But I go every year anyway...it is a lifelong end of summer ritual to wander around the site, have an ice cream waffle, see a band, check out the babes, eat in the food building, buy a trinket or two.....no rides or games of "skill" for me anymore though, but it is fun to see the new generation of carnies.

I love those hot waffles with the vanilla ice cream. They're the best!

I think they still have the big wheel and wild mouse..

These days the draw seems to be the shopping and the food... Deep fried butter balls... Mmmmm..

As far as driving goes.. Take the bus.. It's usually free on the way back (if I remember correctly).

I think I understand why. Its rumoured that they only use the finest of ingredients when making food at the Ex.

It's just waffles with ice cream so not too much can go wrong there. It's not like expecting them to cook a gourmet meal!

I remember when it was the Shell tower, before Bulova, that and the pepsi. Can't remember if it was 1 or 5 cents. I still go to take a look around

The last time I went the better living pavilion had "push button" phones as the next big thing.
