Holy shit, I went there on a Saturday to pick up a pair of cheap shorts at Wal-Mart to play tennis with and I can't believe what a cesspool that place is.

Bickering fat couples, dumbasses on motorcycles parking and talking on their cell phone in the lane where people try to get in the mall, not even in a parking spot! People swearing and honking the horns at said dumbasses, really fat and ugly people looking for God knows what to improve their hopeless situations.

That is the last time I ever go near that place.

Toronto is going to shit.

Sorry, but I rise in defense of the Dufferin Mall. Not Bayview Village, I agree but a good reflection of the diverse Toronto. It got cleared of drug dealers a few years ago and while not upscale, many stores offer good value. The No-Frills grocery has an excellent selection of fish and meat and selection at other stores is just fine. Wal-Marts tend to be the same all over the city. What you see is what you get.

The top parking level fills up on the weekends but there are two levels below that seem to have space.
You might find bickering couples even at Holt Renfrew. And as for fat people, no one has a monopoly.

The park across the street was reclaimed by the neighbourhood. Once a haven of drug dealers, it is maintained by the community.

Illegal taxis are a feature at other malls and grocery stores too.

Bottom line: If you don't like it, shop elsewhere.

I wouldn't want to visit too often, but I like the occasional trip to Dufferin Mall. I like the atmosphere because it feels more like a community's place and less like a corporate-processed take on what a "shopping experience" should be like.

The mall itself isn't bad, lot of good deals.

The TTC buses though, mobile garbage bins. People are pigs.

I like the nuclear strike option mentioned above.

Yup..I was there about 20 yrs ago to get a quick hair cut cos I was in the neighborhood. The lady 30ish was rubbing her kitty intentionally on my hand which was resting on the arm rest while giving me the hair cut. I wasn't into hobbying in those days and was quite surprised by her actions.
