Exactly! Eat what you want, just not as much. I am the same weight I was in High School (many years ago) and I laugh at these people with their low this, not that diets. They are all still fat if not fatter. As yababy1956 says, eat less and get of your fat ass of the couch and do something. And yes, there are healthy foods that wouldn't kill you to try!

I have a friend that's an ex-marine. Left the marines at 155. He's now 255 and believes all these bullshit diet schemes THAT NOBODY LIKES yet thinks they are the answer. Like yababy says, 1 in 1000 makes it and that's enough to make believers out of the rest. Like these losers that think they are going to get rich at a casino. Everyone knows someone (1 in a 1000) that hit the jackpot and it's the casino's and diet book sellers that get fat. Fat in the wallet that is!

I eat very close to this these days.... much of my protein is fish (more than half) lean pork and chicken - very little red meat. I would also add steel cut oatmeal and berries to the list - the perfect breakfast.

you think these tips will help the average person??????????????????????????

Come on, these are hard core, very hard to stick with and the reason so many fail tips.

The average person needs moderation in food, quantity and exercise so they can SLOWLY lose over time

1 in 1000 MIGHT get to stick with this diet

No offence but most of us want to enjoy life and part of that is food. Of course you see results with this when combined with intense exercise (I am presuming that is the OP as well)
Doesn't sound that hardcore, just common sense. My diet is pretty close save for a monthly quality f/f burger or a half a medium pizza for a treat, and 2% Natrel for milk. I'm trying to eat smaller meals and nothing after 8:00pm. Certainly not a hardcore regime. Yes, do it slowly.

The #1 most effective thing you can do in ANY diet plan is learn about your own body's relationship to calories.

If you seriously want to learn to control your weight keep a journal for awhile and log everything you eat each day and an estimate of how many calories, along with a daily record of your weight, and your waistline measurement (waistline can be done weekly). Also record whatever "extra" exercise you did that day (beyond your ordinary routine) and how many calories you estimate you burned doing that. You need to do this for at least a few months, if not forever.

After a few months you will then have a log showing you total calories consumed, total calories burned, and the effect on your weight and waistline over time. Using this you can figure out how many calories you burn on day on average, and as your numbers firm up, you will be able to predict what you will have to cut out of your diet (or add) to reach your desired weight, and how long that will take. The log has to be THOROUGH and COMPLETE, no leaving out that cookie you ate, and religiously record down any exercise you do.

There is no substitute for having this sort of information about your own body. You can't use calorie/diet plans from books or the web as effectively, because they use "average" burn rates. Your own body is a little different--but you will find that once you understand your body's relationship to food and exercise that it's relatively easy to control your weight.

As for "low fat", "high protein", "low carb", etc., i believe that is secondary to calories, and really depends on what you are trying to accomplish. A high protein diet is obviously going to be more effective if you are doing strength training, but you're probably better off with carbs if you are a runner or play high-cardio sports. You want to tailor your diet to your lifestyle.

But the losing/gaining will primarily come from calories in / calories out, as adjusted to your own measurement of your own body.

Well, everything in moderation is the key and get plenty of exercises and you will be fine.

For me recently, I have been having Oatmeal in every other morning with either a banana or dried cranberries, and because of the oatmeal, i ate lesser portion for lunch.

As for lunch, try to have something that is less greasy, salad with a little bit of vingiarette dressing, or whatever that is light will do the job.

I have been doing it for a couple of months now and believe it or not, I lost weight and back to my size 32

I would also eat food in their rawest form.... The less processing the better.

I love beer but very rarely drink it, it's very bad for you, if you have/want to drink I suggest red wine.

I would suggest finding exercise that you enjoy, there is nothing wrong with going to the gym but I find that doing something I consider a treat (30 miles on my bike) as a workout really helps.

If you want the best returned on your oatmeal and can cook more than 60 second Quakers, try Steel Cut Oatmeal, more of the good stuff in it, less processing, and in my mind better flavour; honestly it has flavour.

I'm hardcore but to the average it's too much. to keep it easy, it depends on your body target ie body building, sports, endurance, slimming down and then you eat the right ratio. For me, when I'm training like now for sports, I eat a third carbs, fat and protein. When I want endurance I go half carbs, 1/4 protein and fats. I'm the same weight since high school.

Like my Girls , all natural because I love to eat. Protein shakes are a waste of money.

Yeah, I already know and do a lot of these things but I do have my weaknesses... steak, red wine, beer, and cheese to name a few. lol I try to stick to whole wheat pasta but white pasta just tastes better. :-( BUt I rarely ever eat white bread.

Good to mention the fruit - a lot of people think that eating tons of fruit is a good thing but most have a high sugar content. And fruit juices often contain a lot of sugar. Bananas and avocadoes are good fruit choices. Avocadoes have had a bad reputation for years because they're high-fat but it's healthy fat. Recent studies have shown that people who regularly eat avocadoes (in moderation of course - don't eat a huge bowl of guacamole!) tend to be slimmer.

I haven't drank higher than 1% milk in years. I mostly stick to skim. And always eat breakfast!

Easy, Guinness, less calories, less alcohol, full taste.
Yeah, I try to stick to Guinness.

it's very simple .... calories in ... calories out ...
push yourself away from the table, and you'll lose weight ...
eat 1000 calories a day of cheese cake ... you'll lose weight
it's discipline .... eat fewer calories than you need, you lose weight ...

Really easy and super healthy diet tip: Green Smoothies. I've been doing these for the last year and feel great with tons of energy.
Lost 25 lbs.
My sex drive has gone through the roof (not a good thing as my wife is out of town and my hobbying budget has also grown) My penis has grown by almost an inch when erect. Wider too and rock hard erections.
I kid you not!
Mental clariy and less need for sleep-four to six hours is fine, down from seven to eight.
I start off the day with a huge smoothie. Here's the recipe: half a package of the large organic baby spinach from zehrs, a couple pf bananas and some tropical fruit-mango, papaya or even apple will do. Add a couple of glasses of water and blend in a good blender till smooth. Chia seeds add bulk or flax.
Sip slowly as this is food, not a drink. Kind of chew it to digest well.
I have also been eating mostly raw, tons of saldads and fruit.
Never felt better in all my life!

A 1000 calories is damn close to starvation diets and your body will fight it by almost shutting down and once you return to 2300 you run the risk of yoyo dieting.

Simply, burn more than you take in and voila.

Read the book "The gospel of food" and that list might change we really know so little about what we shove in our mouth and that list proves a huge amount of misinformation.
Good luck with what ever you think is good for you, if it works go for it but please do not think that it works for us all.
