But how long has Apple been flat for?
Were they flat for quite awhile now?
Before the release of the iphone4 - a day before release day?
Perhaps if I type slower and use pictures you'll be able to do the math:

Now, tell the class what conclusion you draw.....

Well Mr. Small Penis Syndrome, I would have to say that with Android in the picture, the iOS is getting bitten because of Android.
Unless of course people for no reason at all decided to not buy the iPhone and in turn their sales went flat, but I somehow doubt that.
You get an F, most likely not your first.

Equal market share but a fraction of the internet traffic.... hmmmm

21% of Android users want an iPhone next, 6% of iPhone users want an Android phone, but here is where it gets interesting, and why you got an F, 29% of RIM users want an iPhone and 21% want an Android phone - the lowest retention intent of the three platforms. And the best part is it's your link.

Dog bites man, Apple will not retain it's 95% market share..... you can't get anything by those Canadian newspapers....

There you go Mr. Small Brain, we don't have to guess, you keep showing us.

I'll keep this simple, because alas, your head is so far up Jobs' ass, you're only hearing yourself and Steve's bowel movements.
If you HONESTLY think that Android isn't having ANY effect on Apple's market share, then you really need to take the blindfolds off.

"29% of RIM users want an iPhone and 21% want an Android phone"

If Android wasn't in the game, what do you think would that 21% of those wanting and Android phone would want then? If not a RIM product? Apple or Windows based phones?

Like I said, Android is having an effect on Apple's share, not just at the expense of RIM. lol

You're trying to delude yourself from the obvious truth.
I can now see why you have small penis syndrome.

OK, I'm guessing liberal arts students, my fault I should have recognized it sooner.

Market Share on October 09
Apple 27%
RIM 38%
Android 2%

Market Share December 10
Apple 28%
RIM 27%
Android 27%

Net change:

Apple +1%
RIM -11%
Android +25%

There, does that help. Perhaps if you take the helmet off.....

What was Apple's market share a year ago? Or two years ago?
Then compare them to today's numbers please.

"Android hurting iPhone sales" - Munster

That was my point, Android does hurt Apple's sales (not just RIM's). Apple's fluctuations are NOT independent of Android's sales. There's a cause and effect relationship once Android entered the smartphone market.

You have to excuse the poor kid...

LOL!
You have to remember bottie deals with 'arts & charts' based on 'fuzzy' numbers, he learnt in business school. Business school as we all know, is the 'fall-back' position where most students find themselves in after flunking out of a REAL curriculum in college/university. This is another reason he is sooooo high on Mac since they will easily render those handy-dandy graphs and charts for him. Although it appears doubtful he is even technically capable of that, preferring his copy/paste SOP.....:p

Heavens knows some of these challenged business school boyz can't even do a proper 'Reply With Quote' without farking it up.....

Wait, so your point is that Android was hurting Apple sales before Oct 2009 when they had a whopping 2% market share? Android entered the market and the only vendor not to lose market share is Apple.... Really, did you suffer head trauma as a young child?

My point is, Android is absolutely having an effect on Apple's sales, period.

From a blog I read awhile ago, (I'm on my laptop now not at home, so not bookmarked here) but...
"Google passed Apple gaining 6.4 from October 2010 to November 2011. Google in November 2009 had 3.8% market, Apple dropped with and gains of only 0.08% "

I suppose it's just utter sheer coincidence that Android did well and Apple's growth was only .08%?

Of course Android is hurting RIM, no doubt about it. However, Android's entrance into the smartphone market has made an impact all around and its growth has been exponential - THAT you can't deny.

No. Telus has to have the flatfile loaded which is only available from Verizon.

No, what you said was:

Don't forget they're also taking a bite out of Apple's share as well.
They ARE NOT (read it slow if it helps) taking a bite out of Apple's share, Apple's share has been flat since Oct 09 when Android entered the market. What Android is doing is taking a share of the low end market (2:1 phones), RIM and what is left of M$ and Palm OS.

It is primarily a two player game, Apple and Android, but with similar share. As the market expands I'd expect Android to win more of the market as the market will expand down (price wise). Apple will win a good share of Andorid upgrade customers and a share of RIM's implosion.
