Got 2 minor tickets in the past 3 years and TD will bail on me next month (just received the notice). I'll be looking for a new insurer. Any help out there?

BelAir has always treated me well.... but then again I have a clean abstract so YMMV.

Bit obvious, but try a broker near you. I have a quite reasonable rate and the broker actually called me back a couple of weeks after I renewed last time to say they had found a better deal.
I think 'Pilot' (company, not broker) used to be cheap.

Shit, 2 minor tickets and they are bailing on you?

You just have to call around for the best deal, what's cheapest for me may not be the cheapest for you.

CAA and Johnson gave me the best rates......but 2 minor tickets and their dropping you...seems weird

Just another reason why I hate insurance companies. They over charge you if you low risk, but just a couple speeding tickets and they drop you like a hot potato.

I was kicked by Aviva, but State Farm has been great in helping out.... try the Markham office

If you go with State Farm, careful...they keep raising your rates every year with bs excuses as per others I know with SF. House insurance went up over 50% in the time I was with them...no claims but they came up with some story. Looked around and as stated, saved that 50%.
As for the tickets, 20 over...did you lose points? If so, some insurance companies consider that a risk. Fight every ticket...beat the ticket or at least get the points knocked off.

no demerit points. never fought it though. i got caught 2x 20kmh in the span of 2 years. insurer gave me notice, 2x in 3 years is not acceptable. fuck them. i'll take my money elsewhere, i wouldn't mind paying extra if they raise it no big deal.

20 km/hr over the limit does involve demerit points.

NO NO NO NO NO!

We are such suckers when it comes to points in everything. We want to gain them for air miles and at Shoppers Drug Mart but hate them with our license.

POINTS mean NOTHING to first line insurers. After two moving violation convictions you will likely have your rate increased. Even without any points. By the time demerit points become an issue you will be at $5k a year through Facility.
100% correct. Insurers only have 2 catagories, major and minor convictions... major are over 6 points.. minor are EVERYTHING else. Forgot to bring your insurance papers CONVICTION!!! EXTRA INSURANCE RIP OFF. Same with just about ANY ticket except parking. Which is why everything needs to be fought.
