The only way Chuck Norris would win in a fight is if he cheated and used the fist in his beard :)

We all can joke about Chuck Norris but I know that all of us Martial Arts lovers love him too.

As I said and someone else said as well, he's a World Champion and was fortunate enough to personally get to know Bruce Lee.

I really enjoyed his Texas Ranger TV series.

I'm kinda sick of this Bruce Lee cock stroke.

Yes, hes a good martial artist...No, I would not want to fight him.

But I think people make this guy out to be more than he was. There are likely MANY guys on this planet who could have handed him his ass. Only reason why hes so inflated is because he was on TV, so everyone knew him; and not only that he came out with martial arts during a time when your average American wasnt the most worldly of guys. Bruce introduced the West to the East back when the West didn't know shit.

So there you have it... combine ignorant market with good martial artist and he becomes the best thing since sliced bread.

Again...I'm not dumping on Bruce but IMHO...Bruce was just a small example of what else is out there

Christopher Reeve in his prime could kick Bruce Lee's ass. Fast and strong as he was, Lee couldn't fly so fast as to reverse the rotation of the earth and reverse time.

Morons.

All one has to do is see a few of Bruce Lee's moves and realize the man was much more then a hollywood actor. He did not use many special effects because many didn't really exist back then and they really didn't have the budget to use many as well.

Anyone with a gun could do it.. but the fact is, he has a superb martial artist combined with incredible star power. You don't get as good as Bruce Lee without incredible dedication and effort. I didn't fully appreciate him until later, but to be a 135 lb waif and be able to develop a reputation as the toughest fighter around, alone that is impressive and I doubt it could be baseless. I have not heard any credible rumors of anyone kicking Bruce's butt.

who else is out there? I dont know...and neither does anybody else....and thats my point. Theres how many billion people on the planet?...Just because you havent heard of them doesnt mean they dont exist.

I give BL credit for being a fantastic martial artist; that is evident. But when people say he is the greatest...well, thats when they've lost me....based on what exactly?

Donnie Yen worth mentioning

You could be right but who else is out there?
The very agile Donnie Yen plays Ip Man who was Bruce Lee's mentor. The movie is divided into two parts and very much worth seeing. All on this post will get a kick out of the last scene in the second film when a little cocky kid we all know meets Ip Man and says: "I'll let you teach me!".

Sammo Hung also appears in the film so it all ties in very nicely. The two films are quite good and have plenty of martial arts action. Worth seeing.

Two words. Sammo Hung.

LOL, just like old Bruce Lee movies when Bruce played an "underdog" who beat the Gwai Lo. This is another one to incite the Chinese Nationalism, in this case, bashing those murderous Japanese Militarists thugs.

Awesome clips, Jackie is INSANE, but I still think Bruce Lee was even more special. Jackies stunts and simply unreal though....
They are both special in their own ways and Bruce Lee would be your 'traditional' raw martial artist whilst Jackie Chan would be the 'joker' martial artist who makes the fight fun.

This is a scene from a very underrated Jackie Chan movie, Mircacles. One of my all time fav martial arts movies/fight scenes.

Oh, and this fight as well ( from the same movie )...pure awesomness.

LOL. Should be Sammo Hung (洪金寶). His kids are half Chinese, half Korean and nope neither of them could speak Korean. ;)
Well I was close.

There is an apocraphal story in Jackie's Chan biography that Sammo once had a sparring session with Bruce Lee that was fairly even, but Sammo will not confirm or deny it and seems to say he feels Bruce was the best ever.

Based on more than you have offered, and that's the point too.

I can also confirm that a 7th Degree Dan Black Belt in Kung Fu (he used to own a chain of Kung Fu studios in Toronto) told me that Bruce Lee was probably the most technically proficient. I also know that he wouldn't have challenged Bruce Lee who was like a raptor dinosaur.

I used to pass by Wong In Sik a top notch Korean hapkido master and I'd walk by his studio all the time and look at the famous movie pictures. He starred in movies with Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan and has been teaching here in Toronto for about 30 years. He played the Japanese fighter who fought Bruce Lee in "The Way of the Dragon". His Jackie Chan films were in "The Young Master" and "Dragon Lord".

Here's more info if you'd like to drop by his dojo here in Toronto some time.
