It's going to be a landslide 6 months at the expense of RIM and the free Android phones. After that I think the trends will go back to those of the last 6 months, Android capturing RIM share, Apple maintaining and M$ nowhere.I can't wait to see the US numbers for mobile marketshare in 6 months.
It's possible. I'm going to wait and see. It's going to be a landslide 6 months at the expense of RIM and the free Android phones. After that I think the trends will go back to those of the last 6 months, Android capturing RIM share, Apple maintaining and M$ nowhere.

This has been baked in the price for some time, I'd never put too much emphasis on a single day's move.it's interesting on the day of such a "big" announcement that Apple stocks dropped a little bit. while google and rim went up just sayin'
aapl: -.24% 341.64
goog: +.29% 616.01
rimm: +1.29% 62.89
seems the market place kinda yawned
all those folks that abandon at&t for verizon, you have to wonder how they will feel when they find out verizon can't handle simultaneous voice and data traffic
Yeah, Apple was climbing steady for the last 5 days or so. Obviously, today the news came out and traders took their profits. This has been baked in the price for some time, I'd never put too much emphasis on a single day's move.
Oh hell yes. I suspect for most people in the States, their choice isn't iPhone vs Android. It's "Do I get an iPhone or do I stay on Verizon?"This is a better deal for Apple than Verizon, they will spend billions subsidizing the iPhone for current customers, Apple get's a new market and no exclusivity give.
Verizon iPhone Could Top 15 Million Units in 2011
LMAO!!!.....
It was a funny spot but I think the bandwidth issues will remain in NYC and San Fran - my experience is that all cell phone networks suck (I've had Verizon, T-mobile and Sprint) and as the smartphone becomes a mass market product (every high school girl.....) the load on the network will become unrelenting.LMAO!!!.....
Perhaps soon your years of struggle with the world's most popular 'almost phone' will be over.....
I doubt it will be so much people changing networks as hardware (which is why I think Apple is the winner and that Verizon will get the bill), I'd guess that iPhone users use the network more (there are 300k apps for that), one can see that in the OS web traffic statistics. No doubt Verizon networks will come under severe stress if everyone jumps over to Verizon. Hopefully they are upgrading their system for this coming onslaught....
It seems to be the biggest limitation of the Verizon network, I don't know if their 4G will fill this gap.So while using the wifi hotspot feature with any smartphone on Verizon, you cannot take phone calls? Ouch
