$40 unlimited voice/data?
A few of my friends or on their network and love it. Some issues with their network but that's because they're just starting out. May have to bite this one before my contract expires in a few months with my provider. Deal ends on the 24th.

Wind is expanding and has plans for 2011

They're big in Europe and the Middle East, so the money is there.

I got it. The deal is sweeet. Coverage has its gaps, but it's not bad. The all-you-can-eat package is for "Wind zones" only, but these zones are much larger than the home zones of the competition, plus it includes other cities (Ottawa, Vancouver, etc.) where they have towers.

Get an Android phone and it includes unlimited wifi tethering! I got a Nexus S in the states. Now I use my iPhone with a SpeakOut SIM for, um, you know.

Both Wind and Mobilcity use the same non-standard frequency right? Honestly I just wish they would get some decent phones.. !!!

I have multiple lines with FIDO that came due last month. I Held out on renewing and advised my provider that I would be shopping around. When I told my provider (FIDO) that I would switch for this deal they matched it. Unlmited voice, text, and data, all for $40. And they sent me some free phones.

Did you get unlimited Canada/US long distance too? That is a pretty attractive part of the Mobi/Wind offer.

Even if you do not have confidence or like Wind, this puts pressure on the competition.

Get them yourself, that's what's great about them. Wind's frequency requirements are 1700/2100. Go find a phone that has those frequencies and get something you like, TONS out there.
More than Telushit or HellMobility have to offer without having to lock the phones down with their ugly ass themes.

Signed up with WIND earlier today, they were INSANELY busy with 3 guys working the counter, felt bad for them. lol

Another bonus, if you pass the credit check, you get $150 towards the purchase of a phone. Got myself the BBerry Curve from $140 (from $290).
Considering I was using an old Nokia (love their build quality), this will be a treat for me.

Go for it guys, they're expanding and deals like this are rare and happen very little.

I hate to piss on anyone's enthusiastic pitch for Wind but when I checked it out, there were some significant down sides to the service. I hope Wind catches on and I want the big boys to suffer but there are drawbacks to the service. There are not tons of phones - it initially started with 4 and it is nice to see it go to 15 but if you look to add the latest iPhone, HTC, etc smart phones - you can't use them on Wind. Instead of adopting World phone specs - GSM Quad-band (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz), Wind must have AWS-compatible phones which do limit your choices. I was bummed out to learn this because I do travel and I like my iPhone.

I have two years left on my contract but when it is up, I'm hoping to have an Android phone on an alternative carrier. My phone must be a current technology world phone that includes the AWS compatibility or I'll just stick with the service that meets the phone's requirements. Do your homework but there's never a free ride.

For the kind of usage I will be needing it for, it's perfect.
More than happy with it. Piss away, not bothering me, because you're just pissing in the so called "WIND" with this one. :D

Unfortunately, these were the only frequencies that WIND, Moblicity, Videotron and Public Mobile were allowed to compete for. Hopefully as these frequencies become more used, the big phone manufacturers will include them in their products.

So far so good, drove around from Mississauga, through the 403/QEW/427 full strength.
I recommend you guys get the plan before it's gone, it's one of those plans that come along once every so often and next time around it may be a bit more and not $40.
