I haven't read too much detail about them but the new US Jewish Lobby, J-Street seems decent. Supportive of Israel's existance but critical of many policies....
Then you have the US groups, the religious right who think Israel can do no wrong, and the power of the jewish lobby in 'Washington etc. Noone seems to have a CALM, rational approach to the whole thing.
Sorry, I fixed you quote....A great deal of hatred againt Israel is caused by ... Israel being...
Interesting fact. You say that the movement for a Jewish homeland opposed the idea of a Jewish homeland? I know that many religious groups felt/feel that only god could create Israel but I think Hertzl et. al. believed it was man's job from the beginning.... Until the 1920s Zionism opposed the creation of Isreal. ...
I would agree not headline grabbing, but more pervasive and more accepted.I have not heard of any significant anti-semitic activity in Brazil...
Please do not put words in my mouth. All I said is that some countries are anti-semetic. To say that Israel "being" is a reason for hatred is really to minimize the fact that Israel was founded on the blood of many people. It's not like Israel magically appeared. There were many wars and bloody battles fought. Many innocent civilains slaughtered. Many people lost everything including their heritage and family ties.I haven't read too much detail about them but the new US Jewish Lobby, J-Street seems decent. Supportive of Israel's existance but critical of many policies.
Sorry, I fixed you quote.
Israel existing is the reason why much of the Arab world began their hate and the conflict that has been going on has given them specific actions to hate Israel for but at the same time, the Arab world has given Israel many reasons to hate in return.
Why would countries like Brazil follow the line of the anti-semitic countries (and it's good of you to finally admit that much of it is anti-semitism)? Political alignment and oil could be the start of the answer; maybe even add that many countries enjoy the attention Israel gets because it keeps the spotlight off of their own rights abuses.
But they voted for Portuegual.. how does that promote an Islamist agenda .......last I heard Portuegal is a catholic country,.Kudos to Harper for calling it the way it is.
The OIC (Organization of Islamic Conference) makes up the largest voting bloc in the UN.
Today, the UN largely gets its marching orders from the 57 Islamic countries which vote as a bloc. As a result, the UN is promoting the political ideaolgy of Islam, it's racist, anti-semetic, condemns democracy, free speech, ignores the rights of ethnic/religious minorities in Islamic countries, supports brutal dictators and condemns Israel's right to exist.

That is an amazing accomplishment. A small voting block of 22 countries is able to ensure that the general assembly remain anti-semitic.In that process the Arab League uses its voting block to ensure that UN GA agencies remain anti-semitic.
You need to learn more about how the UN works, you're plainly ignorant. The Arab League sell their votes to the likes of Myanmar and Zimbabwe on other issues in exchange for votes on things they care about like UNHRC. In this way they always amass a majority of votes. That is an amazing accomplishment. A small voting block of 22 countries is able to ensure that the general assembly remain anti-semitic.
Do you have any idea of how idiotic your propaganda sounds?
I've been trying to think of a single instance where Harper expressed even the slightest disapproval of Israel. The only item I can think of was when Israeli intelligence agents were caught using false Canadian passports. Even then, I don't think Harper personally said anything negative about it. He left that to one of his minions. Apart from that, I think Harper has unquestioningly endorsed every single thing Israel does.As it happens I think that Harper has a fairly balanced approach. Although he is certainly supportive he is at time critical and does not simply accept the actions of Israel without criticism. The problem with many countries at the UN is that unless you condemn all actions if Israel you are castigated.
You are a fool. Your propaganda is simply that anybody critizising any action of Israel is anti-semitic.You need to learn more about how the UN works, you're plainly ignorant. The Arab League sell their votes to the likes of Myanmar and Zimbabwe on other issues in exchange for votes on things they care about like UNHRC. In this way they always amass a majority of votes.
Remember that only a tiny fraction of UN member nations are democratic. The rest stand willing to sell their vote.
Portugal has a very high proportion of Muslim citizens, most of southern Europe does for that matter. The Arab league was not neccisarily voting for Portugal as much as they were voting against Canada, any other country (except Isreal) would have worked for themBut they voted for Portuegual.. how does that promote an Islamist agenda .......last I heard Portuegal is a catholic country,.
He has been critical of Isreali actions on severtal occasions, the big thing is he is not bending over to please he Arab league, they are not happy about that for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is Isreal, Foriegn aid issues are also in debate in Africa and the middle east.I've been trying to think of a single instance where Harper expressed even the slightest disapproval of Israel. The only item I can think of was when Israeli intelligence agents were caught using false Canadian passports. Even then, I don't think Harper personally said anything negative about it. In this case Fuji is largely correct. The voting principles of the UNGA are largely bought and paid for, we are one of the few countries that does not plat the game that way. The "third world " governments that by and large are not democratic scratch each others backs for mutual benefit. You are a fool. Your propaganda is simply that anybody critizising any action of Israel is anti-semitic.
I am not disagreeing that there is a lot of backroom politics going on in the UN. However, the idea that the arab league with about 20 nations can completely control the 192 member UN is preposterous. In this case Fuji is largely correct. The voting principles of the UNGA are largely bought and paid for, we are one of the few countries that does not plat the game that way. The "third world " governments that by and large are not democratic scratch each others backs for mutual benefit.
You do not have to tutor me on this. My company had a subsidary in Africa. Please remember bribery, and coruption are still largely the way business is done around the world. Until Paul Martin was the finance minister you could write off bribes on your corporate tax returns. That is just an example, the world is not a nice friendly place for the most part.,
Possibly because you have not looked very hard or chosen to ignore what you have seen.I've been trying to think of a single instance where Harper expressed even the slightest disapproval of Israel. The only item I can think of was when Israeli intelligence agents were caught using false Canadian passports. Even then, I don't think Harper personally said anything negative about it. He left that to one of his minions. Apart from that, I think Harper has unquestioningly endorsed every single thing Israel does.
Well you know.. they voted for Portugal, I suppose that Portugal is the new bastion of anti-semetic thought... .BWAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHThat is an amazing accomplishment. A small voting block of 22 countries is able to ensure that the general assembly remain anti-semitic.
Do you have any idea of how idiotic your propaganda sounds?
Canada was NOT denied a vote of our support for Israel. We were denied a vote because a) we are not supporting Brazil and India's pursuit for a permanent seat on the Security council (bizarre IMHO) and b) we are American lap dogs that no longer have and independent foreign policy. If Canada was denied a seat in the UNSC because of it's support of Israel then Harper is right and the world has to accept that the UN is promoting the agenda of anti-semetic nationals. Among other things, Canada and Israel were two of many leading nations to come to the AID of Haiti and Pakistan during recent natural disasters. Canada has been a long time trading partner of the UAE and now we are a joke to them. It's clear we are being bullied as a nation. They wont even let us land planes in Dubai. Harper did not ignore or disregard the UN. He made a serious bid, but they offered our 64 year old seat to Portugal. Harper had a chance to stand down on his support of Israel but did not take it. As much as I hate him, I applaud his diplomatic integrity in this case.
