Yes, caning a child should be perfectly acceptable. I just don't understand why they didn't stone his mom for packing his lunch.Stop judging other people's ways of life.
Just because it's "accepted" doesn't mean it's not barbaric. I came acoss a clip recently showing the stoning of a young woman in Afghanistan. That too was "accepted" in that culture, but it was the most disturbing thing I've ever seen. If I ever had any doubt about our military involvement in that country, it vanished then and there. We should stop judging people. Different cultures have different ways of life. Canning might be acceptable practice in Malaysia.

It's very simple. Most People in developed countries and cities (including Muslims) have one, two or at the most three kids. From all the idiocy they pull I can't figure out how they are the fastest growing religion...
Just based on the number of women in niqabs/burkas I see pushing strollers around downtown Toronto, I'd guess that Muslims here are having a lot of kids on average. It's very simple. Most People in developed countries and cities (including Muslims) have one, two or at the most three kids.
Muslims in less developed countries have many more kids as it is looked at as a sign of the man's wealth and power.
In North America men prove their worth buying a nice house, nice car, and nice clothes for themselves and their familu; in Malaysia or Somalia since those things are not available, you have 9 kids.
Malaysia is one of the economic tigers of the far east with a high standard of living, how doea it compare to a basket case like Somalia? In North America men prove their worth buying a nice house, nice car, and nice clothes for themselves and their familu; in Malaysia or Somalia since those things are not available, you have 9 kids.

Boy Punished for Farting on the School Bus
A 6th grade student from Parma was sent to detention for passing gas on the school bus.
His family thinks it's the punishment that stinks. Christian Summers, 11, had to serve an hour of detention after he farted several times while on the school bus -- prompting laughter from the children. The school bus driver did not find his flatulence funny.
Christian now fears his flatulence. If he is caught passing gas on the bus again, he could get four or five days of detention.
