More Christian Lunacy
Boy Punished for Farting on the School Bus

A 6th grade student from Parma was sent to detention for passing gas on the school bus.

His family thinks it's the punishment that stinks. Christian Summers, 11, had to serve an hour of detention after he farted several times while on the school bus -- prompting laughter from the children. The school bus driver did not find his flatulence funny.

Christian now fears his flatulence. If he is caught passing gas on the bus again, he could get four or five days of detention.

While punishing a kid for farting is lunacy ( and I assume it was for actual farting and not merely making the noise and thus causing a disturbance ) the punishment (detention) does not compare to canning. In fact, since the Canning was done because of what the kid had done "might" offend someone, one could argue the farting was offensive , or at the very least the behaviour it caused.

We should stop judging people. Different cultures have different ways of life. Canning might be acceptable practice in Malaysia. Just like becoming a 17 years old and 364 days girl is considered underage, but once your 18 years old you can fuck like Sasha Gray, and that's acceptable practice in our western culture!! Many other examples. Don't want to turn this thread into a political one lol.

Stop judging other people's ways of life.

Yes, caning a child should be perfectly acceptable. I just don't understand why they didn't stone his mom for packing his lunch.

What a load of BS. OF COURSE we should judge things. Female circumcision - I guess we don;t 'judge' that either?

Ever heard of human rights?

Just because it's "accepted" doesn't mean it's not barbaric. I came acoss a clip recently showing the stoning of a young woman in Afghanistan. That too was "accepted" in that culture, but it was the most disturbing thing I've ever seen. If I ever had any doubt about our military involvement in that country, it vanished then and there.

According to the Afghani culture (stoning), all married men indulging in SP activity should be stoned for committing adultery. I'm sure the wives would be very happy and accepting to this way of life LMAO.

Talking about human rights, what do you call human trafficking? (Which is most of the adult industry, whether you admit it or not).

It's very simple. Most People in developed countries and cities (including Muslims) have one, two or at the most three kids.

Muslims in less developed countries have many more kids as it is looked at as a sign of the man's wealth and power.

In North America men prove their worth buying a nice house, nice car, and nice clothes for themselves and their familu; in Malaysia or Somalia since those things are not available, you have 9 kids.

Just based on the number of women in niqabs/burkas I see pushing strollers around downtown Toronto, I'd guess that Muslims here are having a lot of kids on average.

I'm gonna change one of dmx's famous lines. "guns don't kill people, people kill people!'" to "religion doesn't kill people, people kill people!"

Malaysia is one of the economic tigers of the far east with a high standard of living, how doea it compare to a basket case like Somalia?

As for the boy who was disciplined for farting on a school bus in Parma, it's a complete fabrication. Parma is the cheese capital of the world.

LOL, if I was a Muslim the easiest rebuttal in the world would be to point out all the abuse in the Catholic church.

So I am guessing Burt that the only religion that is free from sin must be that one that everyone seems to hate, the Hebrews.

No, the point is that we can point out all sorts of shortcomings of INDIVIDUALSfrom ANY group, be it from religious (or non-religious) groups, ethnic or racial groups, political etc. Pointing out individual cases really is useless.

Perhaps. But individual cases lead to a pattern, and that is what counts. Every religion, society and culture have idiosyncracies and shortcomings and indeed faults. What is important is the intent and the pattern. Take a look at our constitution and society and we, notwithstanding transgressions attempt, as a pattern, to live up to the promulgation of human rights and freedoms and the western rule of law. Now take a look at the Muslim constitution, essentially the Qur'an and its rule of law, the shari'a. Study the ahadiths, the sunnah and the sira. If one does not find these profoundly disturbing and is not judgmental of them then perhaps that one would be better off in a Muslim country. As a corollary, in which Muslim country would you like to bring your children up being subjugated to the above. Judgmental now?

I fail to see how poining out isolated cases says anything about the overall picture - you can counter case with case forever and prove nothing. The article did NOTHING to show anything about Islamic lunacy - what it showed was an individual, who happened to be Islamic, doing something wrong. Same as ( well, actually not as bad) as a Catholic priest molesting a kid.

To take that example and make a broad case against Islam is silly. Like saying that a principal somewhere in Canada slaps a kid and calling it "another example of pluralistic democratic society lunacy"
