Nope, Fox is Jewish owned too.
Quite how Rupert Murdoch whose father was of Scottish background and whose Grandfather and Great-grandfather were Presbyterian clerics and whose mother was of English and Irish ancestry became Jewish is truly a miracle (I suppose along the lines of Jews being Gentiles in Utah)

Aren't the right-wingers pro jewish? They are among the most ardent supporters of Isreal.
True, but it's because they are hoping and praying for "The Rapture", i.e. after the Battle of Armagheddon, (where pretty much everyone is wiped out) - Jesus returns to earth in corporal form. In order for the Rapture to occur, there are a few things that must be in place on the Earth. One of them is the Jews have to be in control of the Holy Land. Hence, all the whacko (and they are WHACKO) fundamentalist Christians who want to see the end of the world so that they get to meet and shake hands with Jesus will support Israel to the end of the world (pun intended)

The Jews of course love this.

The ironic thing is that that if you read Revelations, after the Battle, half of the Jews are wiped out. The half that isn't wiped out - realize the sinful error of their ways in not believing that Jesus Christ is indeed the son of God and the Saviour and they all convert to Christianity (seriously) and everything is right in the world.

Of course this is all based on both a very, very literalistic reading of Revelation which is allegorical, combined with a fair amount of license. Indeed in that vein, St. Gregory the Theologian, Patriarch of Constantinople argued against including Revelation in the Bible because of the difficulties of interpreting it and the risk of abuse.

Indeed there was considerable argument as to whether it should be in the Bible in the first place. It was the last book accepted and that not until 397 A.D. at the Council of Carthage.

Hence, in the Orthodox tradition it is the only book of the New Testament which is not read from during the Divine Liturgy.

And Martin Luther correctly said of it "Christ is neither taught nor known in it."

I think that was his covering letter for the resume he sent to Fox News. It can't be a coincidence that that rant was given just as a new head of CNN is being installed. His head was probably already on the chopping block and he already had advanced knowledge of it.

Stewart is a bigot. He insults born again christians, rednecks and rural people. You can say that those groups deserve to be ridiculed, but never the less you are being bigoted in your belief
...AND he attacks Jewish people as well as inner city people, he's an equal opportunist.

While Murdoch is not Jewish, Peter Chernin - the former President and COO of Fox up until June 2009 - is. Whatever the ethnicity of his successor, I don't think the Fox agenda has changed.

As is not infrequently the case there does seem to be more to the story, and in context what he said changes a bit.

According to The Associated Press:

Jon Stewart frequently poked fun of Sanchez (who is Cuban-American) on his program referring to a tweet Sanchez had received earlier this week from House Republican leader John Boehner as a case of "send a twit a tweet."

In a satellite radio interview with Pete Dominick, Sanchez said "He's [Stewart] upset that someone of my ilk is almost at his level," and that Stewart "can't relate to what I grew up with," saying his family had been poor and he had seen prejudice directed at his father. And that Stewart is bigoted toward "everybody else that's not like him."

When Dominick said that Stewart, as a Jew, is also a member of a minority group.
Sanchez said "I'm telling you that everyone who runs CNN is a lot like Stewart, and a lot of people who run all the other networks are a lot like Stewart, and to imply that somehow they, the people in this country who are Jewish, are an oppressed minority? Yeah."

"I can't see someone not getting a job these days because they're Jewish.

I honestly can't see the above as being anti-Semitic
You cant see how feeding the stereotype of the Jews controlling the media is anti-semitic. I guess I have been giving you too much credit up until now.

Neither can I. I think it is ridiculous to call Jon Stewart a bigot, he is generally un-threatening kind of comic. But to say that jews are not discriminated against in the US entertainment industry can hardly be just cause for dismissal.
Did it ever occur to you that that was not the offending comment but that feeding the stereotype of the Jewish controlled media was?

Thanks for the clarification!
There is nobody else on this board that can better sniff out an anti-semitic, even when he isn't one than you...our expert semite apologist!....

If anything says anything about power, it's how fast you are able to get things done.24 hours later he was out the door.you can taunt the crazy christians, you can show scorn on the catholic church, you can question the sanity of scientologists, you can heap abuse on the violence of the muslim religion......but don't ..fuck...with..the..Jews.Lesson Learned

This link is a bit ironic. In this link is a quote attributed to Jeff Bewkes, the CEO of Time Warner
"When I was very young, I told my parents that I wanted to be in the entertainment industry. That's when they sat me down and broke it to me that we were not Jewish.".......I assume he was alluding to some fact that Jews ran certain segments of the industry? Is this quote not in a similiar vein to What Sanchex stated about Jews running certain areas of industry?

Heck, do you know why Caryn Elaine Johnson changed her name to "Whoopi Goldberg"? Her first name was her nickname. The last name was because she wanted a Jewish sounding last name to improve her chances to make it in the entertainment industry.

No, I am not in the business of divining what people think. I went by what he DID say: ".........and to imply that somehow they -- the people in this country who are Jewish -- are an oppressed minority? Yeah. [sarcastically]"

You are certifiably nuts, toguy. By your standard, 95% of everybody are anti-semitic, including most jewish people.
