Hello fellow terbites,

I need some feedback on a delicate topic. I am expecting my first child... a baby boy to be exact. One of the biggest decisions I need to make is whether or not to circumcise my son.

Men, both cut and natural - what is your opinion and arguments? Pros and Cons?

Women, fans and foes of the extra skin - what are your opinions?

Nonsense!

You wouldn't be asking this question if the child was a girl, so why are you even asking?

Over come the historic and cultural bias and see for yourself what purpose genital mutilation serves.
There is NO comparison between female mutilation and a circumcision.

I am "cut" ('snipped' usually refers to vasectomy- that to- lol).

Absolutely preferred by ALL women. Absolutely proven to help with lower rates of disease. Helps reduce premature ejaculation.

A foreskin is a useless vestige related to running around naked in tall grass!

i don't think the above poster really understand what female circumsision entails.......... the womans vagina is sewn shut only leaving a little hole for period blood to come out ..... also her clitoris is cut off so she can no longer have sexual pleasure and when the husband or whatever decides to have sex with her it literally tears her vagina apart causing serious ricks for infection!!! .... circumsized males still have sexual pleasure!

I would say NO.

But, in your situation. Is there a family medical (historical) reason for circumcision?

I think the current opinion in the medical community is pretty overwhelmingly against routine circumcision. It has always been much less common in Europe although it was often done as a matter of course in the U.S. until the past couple of decades but has been in sharp decline in recent years.

I'm sure if you Google it you will find an abundance of imformation.

It was done routinely (crime against nature) in the U.S. because of the powerful "circumcision lobby". Every cut meant an extra $200 in somebody else's pocket.

Why would you want to cause your sweet lttle baby pain and multilation?

I have googled it and had talks with many friends and family, but I am still unsure - hence my bringing it here for discussion. I agree that you cannot compare female and male genital cutting - having a degree in human rights, I had my fair share of material on the topic.

My concerns are obviously hygenic - having been in the business for over 10 years, I have seen my fair share of male bits and bites. I have seen some uncircumcised men that cannot even pull their head out and it looks like their penis is sewn shut; I have seen them that the head makes an appearance but it cannot be fully pulled back; I have seen men who react with pain if it gets pulled back to far; I have smelled some pretty funky "cottage cheese dick" which is repulsive - they can't actually clean properly because they can't fully pull the skin back; I have seen some deformed looking heads because they obviously didn't develop properly because they had been squished or held back by foreskin and I have seen some beautiful uncut units that as soon as it becomes erect, the head pops out without resistance. But with that being said, some of the easy sliders said their head was so sensitive, you couldn't touch it.

On the other side, uncut men are so desensitized that its hard for them to get off.

Obviously, I would teach my son to properly clean himself and the potential consequences of not doing so, but I cannot imagine so many mothers not doing that - so how come I have seen so many cases over the years that makes me think that, just like the size of a woman's clitoris and aerola, the affects of foreskin is totally up to nature and kind of like a wild card - you just dont know what you are gonna get?

So? Whats your point?

That's only because you live in North America. If you lived in Somalia you wouldn't think twice about female circumcision.
Get brought up in a barbarian culture- you think like a barbarian. Duh

Cutting a minor's genitals should be considered child abuse and the parents who authorized such a barbaric procedure should be arrested. It is illegal to take a pic of a minor's genitals so why should it be legal to cut a child's genitals?

Why would you even consider making such a personal decision for someone else? Would you like it if someone on here decided that you would "look better" if you had your nose pierced and went and had it done to you with out your permission?

As for the bullshit about health and premature ejaculation, it is simply bullshit. The point is that you need to teach your son to pull the foreskin back and clean the penis. Once he hits puberty, that means every day. And teach him to pull the foreskin back before taking a leak, so he can aim.

As for the suggestion that woman all teach their sons to be clean, don't assume anything. Most parents don't know squat about their own bodies or are full of misinformation. Just recently there was a fuss over the teaching of "sex ed" in schools, with misinformed parents alarmed that the schools were going to teach children how to engage in sex.

As for the "natural variation", it should be very obvious very early whether or not the foreskin works correctly. While people do come in various shapes and sizes, the reality is that the foreskin should retract.

Circumcision is a cultural and religious practice. It is not medically necessary.

Can you explain what would type of medical (historical) reason there is for circumcision? I know that some cultures (I believe Jews) are circumcised, but I don't know any medical reasons for circumcision.

i prefer uncut, to be honest.
i mean, i like 'em both. but i have observed this:
100% of my clients that have problems ejaculating, or require such brute force that it makes it A LOT less fun to fool around with them, all circumcised.
(we are talking wanking that nearly makes your arm fall off.....)

i dont find them less hygienic either. that's silly a notion.
circumcised or not, its a good idea to wash up anyway. both parties can get smelly...because they are packed away all day in your pants.

the only time i think circumcision is a good idea is when the foreskin cannot retract fully. it does happen in rare cases. in that case, yes, it is a bit of a turn off, seems also to be painful for the man, and yes, it is less hygienic IMO

I had to make this decision also. I am uncut, and most of the kids in my school were cut. So I felt a bit out of place when I was young. However, that could have been easily corrected if I had parents who
knew about this sort of stuff.

As far as I can see there is no good reason for circumcising your child. They do say that uncircumcised men are more likely to contract sexual diseases. I don't know why that is, but I can presume that there is more skin to make contact with. However, I don't think it's a huge issue unless you expect your child to have unprotected sex with a lot of different women.

If you concern is that his penis will not develop properly, you don't have to make that decision until after the child is born. I really don't think that being uncut has anything to do with the shape of your penis, but I don't know for sure. You can see what his penis looks like and make a decision. I can pull back my foreskin when I am soft, but it hurts when I become erect. My son is currently having problems pulling his foreskin back, but we make sure he washes and keeps it clean. His pediatrician had given us a cream to make the skin more pliable, but that has not worked as yet.

When my son was born, we decided to leave that decision for a later date. However, I think that can be a bit difficult, because then you have to take the kid back to have the procedure done.

The rate of cervical cancer is higher in women who's partners are uncircumcised. But it is not the circumcision per se, but rather the level of hygiene that is practiced.

Pull the foreskin back each time you wash the baby, and you will develop habits that are well and good.

Unless the foreskin will not retract, which is very rare, there is no medical reason to circumcise.

If he wants to be chopped later in life, he can make that choice himself. But if you chop him now, he will not be able to undo that damage easily later.
