How are you remembering Michael Jackson on the one year anniversary of his death?

I dated a guy last summer. On our first date, we both admitted to liking Micheal Jackson, and listened to one of his songs while driving back from our first date.

On our last date, Micheal Jackson's death was announced, we saw it on tv while we were picking up something to eat at McDonalds. An hour later, I was left his ass in cottage country after he had pissed me off for the last time on the weekend we were sharing.

I don't remember Micheal Jackson so much, as that guy that I dated. Especially since our last date ended so disastrously, and from first date to last date Micheal Jackson, for some reason, was featured prominently in our brief interlude.

Any great memories while doing it to MJ's songs? Perhaps these are the memories you should attach to MJ.

Guess his fans are having memorials all over with the biggest in L.A. I heard his estate has taken in $400 million over the past year. He's kinda slipped below the radar except for the press coverage today.
Goodridden ....hope he burn in hell, one less pedophile in this world;)

I really hate to break this to you since you seemingly don't know. The verdict is Not Guilty i.e.: not proved beyond a reasonable doubt. It does not mean that you have been found innocent i.e.: you did not commit the crime.
I'm not saying he was found innocent; my first post was a written error on my part but if you will refer to post #32...I said "Innocent until PROVEN guilty"

MJs innocence is maintained in the eyes of the law because they couldnt prove him guilty...you know, he keeps all the same rights you and I have?.. you know that thing called freedom?

How can you call him guilty (with the minuscule bit of information you have) if a court of law couldn't even prove it??? Thats my point

Because the prosecution in the jury's eyes failed to prove its' case beyond a reasonable doubt.

However, any of us here are perfectly within our rights to say that based on what we have heard or read, or personally know that we believe that it is likely that the late Michael Jackson, was indeed a pedophile. Indeed you could be even more direct than that.

The whole system is based on presumption of innocence, but isn't the reality is that people with enough money get away with it, including murder? Justice isn't blind, justice sees the dollar sign. That's me doing Johnny Cochran.

Save your breath Aardvark! Some people believe everything they read, especially when it comes to Actors and Musicians. The rape allegations was simply away to extort money from MJ for wanting to do his "own" things. Notice when the money was paid, everything went away.

Funny how no one says anything about Elvis having sex with 13 year old girls.

Elvis was a 'good ole boy' who came from the conservative bible thumping belt when that behavior was more readily accepted by those inbreds in those RED States!....

Oh you're free to say what you like..

I just dont get the logic in making such a solid statement when a system that had waaaaay more information than you couldn't even prove it beyond a reasonable doubt. The prosecution had the burden of proof and they couldn't convince the "reasonable person" that the defendant is guilty .... makes no sense

Thank goodness there have been some significant changes in how allegations of criminal activity by noted actors and musicians are treated between the early 1960'a and the early 2000's. Elvis would likely not have been given a "wink and a nod" today.

It is always a wise idea to have those who may be in the position of being able to bring charges against you to be in a much weaker social and financial position than you are. You make then a financial offer beyond their wildest imaginings, include a non-disclosure agreement, and then have your associates engage in a "whispering campaign" that the allegations were simply a way to extort money from you.

Further to this point: As I recall Priscilla said that nothing had happened between them before they were married; A valid marriage (solemnized in a jurisdiction where an underage party is legally permitted to marry) is an absolute defense to a charge of statutory rape as regards sexual acts within the marriage.

No he didn't DO it.... I don't think he was the guy that physically did it and neither did the courts.... I DO think that he was likely involved (to what extent I don't know). The prosecutions error was they were trying him for the wrong charge....they were too quick to try to get him with 2 counts of murder one when they should be aiming at conspiracy to commit murder. If they did the latter they likely would have got him.

Thats the price of haste

So how did he get away with it? One word answer starts with "m".
Which translated means excellent presentation by skilled and experienced defence counsel (and preparation) and poor presentation (and strategy) by the prosecution.

So, your answer is more succinct
