Today is the 16 year anniversary of OJ's Bronco's chase and arrest. Just listened to radio show flash back to June 17, 1994. OJ was on top of the world, Hetrz commercials with Arnold Palmer, movies, etc., then decided to kill to people.

Oh, that's right, they found him innocent.

Of course he did it but our standards of proof are high in the western world. good thing too or many more innocent folk would be in jail or dead. if you don't like our justice system, find a better one. Somalia? hmmmm. Maybe not unless you're with the winning side.

A lot of people have been convicted in the U.S. on a lot less evidence than they used to convict O.J. Of course, a lot of those people were actually innocent. As I understand it, the main defense the O.J. team used was that the LAPD was so corrupt and incompetent, any evidence that came from them had to be viewed with considerable skepticism. Which seems true, and so I don't really blame O.J. jurors who thought they had reasonable doubt. Though the effect of this, that you can get away with anything if you can pay expensive lawyers to make arguments like this, but you can be easily convicted of things you didn't do if you can't afford a legal team that can manage the considerable work and expense of investigating how the police and prosecutors handled the case, does not seem to me to be ideal. Is Canada any better, or is it also pretty much innocent until proven broke up there?

First problem was Judge Ito. He was terrible. Let anything and everything in. Remeber the "columbian neck tie" defense? Shitty prosecutors too. Rookies. First rule of a lawyer is, "Don't ask a question you don't know the answer to." The case drug on forever with the defense trying to throw in anything that would stick. Then the prosecution asks a question they did not know the answer to, "try on the glove OJ". It did not fit. That's all the defense needed. Defense wrapped it up real quick. The famous line, "if it does not fit you must acquit!" End of story.

He is guilty. It was pointed out that the glove was covered with dried blood. When a leather glove gets wet with any fluid, then dries, the leather contracts (shrinks) about 15%. GUILTY!! GUILTY!! GUILTY!!!

But folks...the GLOVE DID FIT........yes past tense....DID!!!!

anyone of you have a leather glove get wet, in this case with blood, and then lie outside in the heat until it was all dried up. It shrinks...and like most leathers, once worn a while loosens up.

The CROWN made a grave error in not taking that glove and having it worn and loosened for a while. I suspect if they had, they could have paraded a witness with bigger hands than O.J. to walk up and slide on the now stretched glove.

THAT NEVER HAPPENED. HUGE MISTAKE.

The glove was all bloody and everyone tip toed around it..to avoid being contaminated. It stayed in the evidence bag, without any experimentation!!

OJ's main defnece would have been blown out of the water...CONVICTION REGISTERED.

And I would have been retained for free!!! They did not ask me!

****And for a big strong football type guy...he sure did not pull very hard on that glove.....

Yeah, well. Leather tends to shrink a bit when saturated in blood or any other water based liquid for that matter. Plus they had him put on a latex surgical glove first before he put the leather gllove on over it. Of course it didn't fit. Amazing the prosecution never thought of that before trying this stunt.

so what you are saying is if they would have stretched the glove until it fit that should have done it.

We call that fabricating evidence.

I am not sayin stretch...I am saying put it back to its original form..when it was wet and bloody on OJ's hand around Nicoles neck....at that very moment :).

Not after it was all dried out in the heat.

For Petes Sakes Man....they could have experiemented. Had a leather expert testify.

Even get a brand new set of THE SAME GLOVES. I AM POSITIVE, OJ could have gotten into a new pair of the same gloves!!!

PAPASMERF has it right...the crown did not delve into the shrunken glove sufficiently!!

And for gods sakes..it does not take an expert to know leather shrinks....COMMON SENSE MAN!

And if Im really planning a murder....I might even wear gloves that I can barely get on....you know, the ones we all had to wear as kids when we lost our good ones and Mom slid a small small pair on!! Then when they DO SHRINK..they get really small.

Now don;t you guys go planning any killin's now!

They should never had him put on the original glove in the first place. They could have easily determined the size of the glove from the manufacturer, purchased a new one and had him put on that. As a back up they could have previously asked for a hand print and photographs, and found someone with the same hand size they could use to demonstrate the glove did fit if OJ protested it didn't. This is minor. There were so many botched things in this prosecution it's ridiculous.

Did you ever ask yourself why an off duty cop was the first cop on the scene??

Why he pushed his way into the investigation?

As I recall Nichole had a roommate and she was into selling drugs.

Consider this Simpson was killed as a warning to her roommate to pay her debts and Goldman was just unlucky enough to be there.

Indeed!

Couple that with a jury that (from the comments of those who have spoken) seems to have had great difficulty in understanding scientific evidence.
