You already know that the only agency in the world that can legally determine whether the blockade is legal or not is the UN Security Council.
"In World War II, with full international legality, the United States blockaded Germany and Japan. And during the October 1962 missile crisis, the U.S. blockaded (“quarantined”) Cuba. Arms-bearing Russian ships headed to Cuba turned back because the Soviets knew that the U.S. Navy would either board them or sink them. YET ISRAEL is accused of international criminality for doing precisely what John Kennedy did: impose a naval blockade to prevent a hostile state from acquiring lethal weaponry.
Israel has already twice intercepted ships laden with Iranian arms destined for Hezbollah and Gaza. What country would allow that? "

How does he propose to do that when the International Criminal Court has no jurisdiction?
The ICC is about to recognize the Palestinian Authority as a state subject to the ICC's jurisdiction.
When that happens, Israel's actions against the occupied lands will full under the ICC jurisdiction.

All you've provided as evidence for that so far is a letter written by j-random-civilian over a year ago. In the meantime the ICC has still not recognized Palestine. Even if it were to do so today that should not entitle it to retroactively investigate stuff that happened prior to recognition.

As of now the ICC has no jurisdiction over the events that have transpired up to the present moment in time.

Even if it had it is part of ICC's charter not to investigate when the local country is already conducting a competent investigation. The Israeli investigation has the support of several members of the UNSC, it will be seen as competent by ICC.

Amazing how when Israel becomes judge, jury and accused they always seem to come out innocent, isn't it?

This investigation has already been rejected by Turkey and the Palestinian Authority.
Here's Amnesty International's report on Israel's last self investigation.

You have no idea what you're talking about. The last time Israel ran a commission like this it came back and declared that Ariel Sharon, then Minister of Defense, was personally responsible for allowing a genocidal attack at Sabra and Shantilla, and that IDF as a whole was indirectly responsible for not stepping in to stop the attacks.

Like any other fully functioning democracy Israel has a strong and independent judiciary, you are simply full of shit in your assertion that it does not and your claim that it always comes out innocent is flatly disproven by history.

This investigation has already been rejected by Turkey and the Palestinian Authority.
Yeah, real unbiased parties there. Turkey is probably complicit in putting terrorists onboard the Mavi Marmara and is no doubt terrified of what the investigation is going to reveal.

If you want an example of a nation that is NOT capable of running independent investigations Turkey would top the list.

Apples and oranges, that is IDF investigating itself. This is an independent former Supreme Court justice. Would you trust the CANADIAN military to investigate itself? I wouldn't. But I would trust the Canadian Supreme Court to do the job. Same difference in Israel or in any other democracy.

As of now, but things are in the works.

and finally,

Opening remarks to the media at ICC Review Conference - includes statement on Gaza

Ambassador Wenaweser,
Judge Song,
Representatives of the national and international media,
Ladies and Gentlemen,

I thank Ambassador Wenaweser and President Song for their tireless efforts in preparing this landmark event, and for their commitment to international criminal justice. It has been a pleasure and an honour to work with them.

As I said in my speech to the conference, the old era of impunity is over. In its place, slowly but surely, we are witnessing the birth of a new age of accountability.

The establishment of the International Criminal Court struck a resounding blow for peace, justice and human rights.

At this conference, we hope to take stock of the Court's progress and strengthen it for the future.

We want to send a message: that atrocities and heinous crimes cannot go unpunished.

And we want to bolster the Court's deterrent effect – and make potential perpetrators think twice before they act.

I urge all States to cooperate with the Court, and I encourage those States that have not yet done so to ratify the Rome Statute. For the ICC to have the reach it should possess, it must have universal support. Otherwise, we simply embolden those who would commit terrible crimes and those who might want to see the Court fail.

The United Nations played an essential role in bringing the ICC into existence. We have stood with the Court ever since, advocating for it and cooperating with it. It has become the centrepiece of our system of international criminal justice. Kampala is an opportunity to advance the cause further still.

In view of the seriousness of the situation which happened this morning, I would like with the understanding of the President of the ICC and the President of this Conference, if I make a statement on that situation.

I am shocked by reports of killings and injuries of people on the boats carrying supplies for Gaza, apparently in international waters, in the early hours of this morning. I condemn this violence. We do not yet know the full facts yet. More than ten people appeared to have been killed and many more wounded. It is vital that there is a full investigation to determine exactly how this bloodshed took place. I believe Israel must urgently provide a full explanation. I have instructed my Special Coordinator, Robert Serry, and UNRWA Commissioner General Filippo Grandi, to actively engage on the ground in urging restraint and ensuring that no further harm is done and coordinating with all relevant parties.

Can't you read, flubby? This was a speech he gave the same day as the flotilla raid and he simply used his appearance there as a moment to comment on it. He does not comment in any way on the jurisdiction of the ICC over Israel.

Did you know that the United States also has not joined the ICC? China, India, and Russia as well. It is a flawed organization and needs a serious overhaul before it will be widely accepted. The ICRC is a much better way to enforce the GC.

Yes, and for years the US has been pressuring countries to give them immunity from all possible charges by the ICC in exchange for not attacking them, a bit of aid, attacking a neighbour.....
Too bad Israel can't afford that same approach.

The ICC charges must be hitting home, your need to slander them apparently just increased by a few hundred percent. I'd say I'm suprised that you're still ok with the ICRC, except I'm sure that will hold only as long as you can hold on to your blockade ok, closure bad fantasy.

Yup, because like Israel, like Russia, like China, like India, and like many other nations, the US views the ICC as deeply flawed.

In any case there will be no ICC charges because as I've pointed out:

1. It has no jurisdiction, and even if the PA were to join, that would affect only future events

2. Israel competently investigates itself, and it is illegal for the ICC to investigate in cases where national courts have already taken up an issue

1. The Palestinian Authority submitted their application in 2009.

2. The UN, EU, Turkey and Palestine do believe that Israel can competenty investigate itself.

Wait, is that the same UN that has Sudan on the Human rights council? The same Turkey that Says they have no problems with what is going on in Darfur? The same Palestinians that...well you know.
