I found out today that I'm clear and the full battery of tests came out negative but the anxiety that I went through this week made it feel like years.
Just curious if your doctor told you exactly which STI's you were tested for?

Routine STI tests usually only cover three bacterial infections: Chlamydia, Gonorrhea and Syphilis. They only test for these three because they are the most common bacterial infections and they are usually curable with antibiotics.

The viral STI's, HPV and Herpes, are far more common than the bacterial STI's, and they are not curable. There is no approved test for men for HPV, and they usually only test for Herpes if there are visible sores that can be swabbed. Many people become infected with HPV or Herpes without showing any symptoms, and they can infect future partners without realizing it.

It's a good thing for hobbyists to get tested, but some people (through no fault of their own) are getting a false sense of security from testing. They believe that a negative test result means that they are completely clear of all STI's, when in reality it usually only means that they don't have Chlamydia, Gonorrhea or Syphilis.

Doctors and clinic staff are not doing a good job of explaining to the patients which STI's are covered and, more importantly, which STI's are not covered by the testing.

What never ceases to amaze me is that members post their retirement for whatever reason. Why not just quietly fade into the sunset? If you ever choose to post again, it fuels your skeptics.
Being public with your private thoughts can reinforce your decisions. If it helps him do what he feels is right for himself it's all good.

It sounds like a wise choice for Scarbiguy and I wish him well.

EXACTLY

Hit the nail on the head here, that is why I was asking what infection he thought he had.

This is the exact reason I am surprised the BBBJs are so common and everyone freaks out if you only offer CBJs.

That's your opinion and you're entitled, but I disagree with you.

Geez HOF, its just like any other type of human interaction.
If you had a fav bar over the years,
got to know a lot of regulars (SOME at least on an affable basis- lol)
And you KNEW you were not coming back,

wouldnt you say a brief 'Adios" to a few?

Maybe even buy a round?

HEY, EVERYONE RETIRING SHOULD BUY A BJ FOR THE HOUSE!

I think it is a nice gesture when someone formally bids adieu. I'm still wondering what happened to "AdictedToWhiskey". Sometimes they get reincarnated and return to the Board under a different handle . Born again TERBIE.

I'll be glad when you retire.
In the last couple of weeks you've told a few escorts they shouldn't be in the business.
That's very arrogant. It's a review board, we're not here to police or regulate the industry.

You've only been here a year, luv knows the score.

Doctors and clinics follow guidelines and protocols for STI testing. They don't throw out the guidelines just because you told them you "want everything tested". Shaking your head won't make any difference.

Did they test you for HPV the last time you told them you wanted everything tested? Can you tell us how much they charged you for the HPV test, since HPV testing is not covered by OHIP.
