Annual physical?
I haven't been to a doctor in about 15 years (except for visit to Emergency for urine test several weeks ago).
How often do most people see their doctors? Is the physical something you're supposed to get after a certain age?
For some, it's company policy to have an annual. For others, depending on age, you should be going in for a physical on a regular basis. Of course, the older you are, the more the physical will focus on prevention, and testing in order to diagnose early occurrences of disease. For others, like women and Pap testing, seeing a doctor or public health nurse would happen more frequently. Other people are into the doctor for a relatively mild complaint and get a physical at the same time. I believe that you usually have to request a physical, though, if it isn't done through some sort of other venue, such as for work.
At the very least you should be making contact with a doctor on a bi-annual basis, no matter how healthy you perceive yourself. Some diseases are "silent" and carry no outward symptoms. High blood pressure comes to mind here: there is a reason why it's called "the silent killer" and the treatment for it is usually simple enough (especially when diagnosed and treated early). At least give your doctor the chance to take your BP, and make you piss in a cup. lol
