I am looking forward to the June 12 USA vs England game.
If what I am told is true, it would quite the feather in the cap for the US and somewhat of an embarrassment for England should the US win this game.
True, so many exciting games to look forward to. Can't wait. In my prediction league I've picked most of the obvious teams to go through with the exception of Group A where I'm betting that South Africa and Uruguay will upset France and Mexico. Can't wait for it to start.

Yup, I think Group A is the toughest to call. It's like any team advances to the next round from this group is bound to be a surprise... yeah, including France!

top 5 games to watch in th WC:

5)Germany v Ghana-the guy who hurt Ballack ( Boateng ) plays for Ghana, plus many players on Ghana play in the Bundesliga(this one might get ugly)
4)Ivory Coast v Portugal - the group winners will be decided with this game...stars a plenty on both squads ( Drogba, Ronaldo, Kalou, etc etc)
3)England v US - a massive match; if US wins, it will be the most important win of their existencein the modern era....if England wins, it will be a great boost for them to go forward in the tourney. If they lose, the english players will be thrown in a pit and fed to the Lions.
2)South Korea v Argentina- okay this is only becuz i'm korean....lol....but close friends Tevez and Ji Sung Park will face off .. both teams have similar styles, although Argentina has the obvious advantage
1)Brazil v Portugal- the best matchup in group play......if the portuguese show up to play....has some historical significance as well..(Brazil being a former colony of Portugal
Great analogies and u know your stuff. I have a funny feeling about the USA vs England game, I smell a draw or a defeat for England.

I feel this is truly going to be a great WC, unlike that farce we had in Korea/Japan.

Great games to watch for sure. Brazil v Portugal is probably THE game in the group stage.

As for Germany v Ghana, another interesting fact is the Boateng brothers: Kevin-Prince and Jerome. Kevin-Prince, who injured Ballack in FA Cup final, opted to play for Ghana while his brother Jerome decided to play for Germany. If indeed both brothers actually play in that game against each other, they might just make World Cup history there.

I like Ghana but Essien has been injured most of the season. Is it true the bars will be open early and you can drink? Wow, I will feel like I am back in England.

haha..hey that farce in Korea was great for koreans:)!!( although i do agree, we were handed the semi finals on a plate)
and YES, totally agree with the England v USA.....the Americans will be hungry, after their last dissapointing WC, and will take it straight at the english...Rooney probably won't be 100 % and out of his usual form, and let's not forget their midfielders have absolutley no sense of playing with each other( ie: Gerrard and Lampard)...plus a few of the Americans will be going into the tournament in form and in shape( seeing as they will be playing in the middle of the MLS season)
Will you be able to take out your neighbours from the north? I was actually routing for Korea in that WC, just did not like the way they ripped off Italy. No, I do not support the Azzuri.
England's midfield is a joke and in a shambles, nevermind that there defence is even worst. I fear they might barely make it out of the group stage and lost the first round game, I think we are on target to face Argentina.

i really do feel bad for Spain, Portugal and Italy in that World Cup.
You are talking about 2002? Italy and Spain could complain about the reffing, but Portugal? What could we complain about? Maybe Joao Pinto's red was harsh...but he punched the ref....and we sat back for 55 minutes to protect a draw...no...we got what we deserved.

As long as Italy, Germany, Brazil, France or Argentina don't win it, I'm happy.

Being born and raised in England, I'm obviously rooting for England. I doubt if they'll get past the quarter finals, the oposition will have Rooney wrapped in a blanket. Second choice would be Holland, I've always enjoyed the way they play football.

England hasn't won since '66 and Holland has never won (runners up in '74 and '78). I'm with you.

Don't worry.

They won't
I hope you're right. These 5 teams are the only ones to have made a World Cup final since 1978. Frankly I'm sick of it. Would love to see an England-Holland final.
