Yes, I did post that video last year some time. Danny MacAskill is an anomoly unto himself and I am in awe of what this guy does on 2 wheels.
I could only wish I could ride like Danny... but I have one problem... I have already learned and believe all that stuff about gravity we have learned from the likes of Sir Isaac Newton, and therefore am well aware of the fact that the stuff he does on 2 wheels is completely impossible.
Apparently Danny hasn't learned all that yet!! (And hope he never does!)

I've said many times that it's a blessing that those kinds of bikes didn't exist when I was a kid or I probably wouldn't have made it to adulthood.
For those of you of a certain age, I'm sure you'll identify with this. My friends and I used to do wheelies, Evil Knevil jumps and whatever else we could come up with on our CCM Targas and Condordes. Those bikes were not made for that kind of fun.

So true... And Danny MUST have special tires/ tubes... There's no way a regular tire/ tube combo would withstand the torture he puts them through... I get pinch flats on my bike just from hitting a farkin protruding root the wrong way! (I'm thinking he has some sort of airless tube or something...)

You have to have a really inspired bicycle to do what he does. It also doesn't hurt to have some hope.

Danny is riding a trials bike. They are purpose built for doing what he is doing, allowing for great leverage, ability to bunny hop etc. There are some incredible trials riders in Canada including Ryan Leech. Trials is an out growth of motorcycle trials riding. Fascinating in it's own way. Trials bikes are their own beasts with often custom tires and wheel sizes.
What makes Danny interesting is that he combines BMX/mountain bike street riding (flares, 360s, whips) with traditional trials elements (bunny hops, pedal kicks etc..). There are great, great BMX/MTB street riders out there and amazing trials riders. It's the melding of the two which makes his riding such a step forward.
