6 goals within 13 minutes against the 2006 Olympics silver medalist Team Finland??? Wow!!! Amazing!!! And the Fins had only given up 4 goals in the tournament until this game. Can you believe it??? Mikka Kiprusoff must be feeling very bad right now. Looks like Niklas Backstrom will feel bad too. Team USA vs Team Canada in the Final will be the epic game of this Olympics.

The U.S.A. has done their job. Don't be looking past the Slovakians tonight, that would be foolish on Team Canada's part.

Great news for Canada in this huge USA win.

The Americans will get their usual swelled ego filled heads and be ripe for picking on Sunday.

We'll beat Slovakia tonight in a tough game and then trash the USA as they self-implode and fall apart as usual.

From the entertainment standpoint, too bad the second and third periods look like Finland and USA are practising with each other. Team USA even rest goalie Ryan Miller to make sure he is in good shape for the gold medal game. Don't blame the coach's decision on that especially when dirty player like J. Rutuu (plays for the 'mighty' Senators when Finland does not want him) tried to crush Miller in the second period. J. Rutuu was given a two minute penalty and 10 minute misconduct. Talk about Eurotrash!!! There you have an example. Fortunately Miller was not hurt or major setback to Team USA for sure. However, goalie Tim Thomas just let in a goal to spoil Team USA's shut out record.

The Americans have done their part, now it is up to our Canadian lads to kill (figuretively) the Slovaks to-night.

Actually Team USA already has over-achieved as not too many expect them to go so far and deep in the tournament. They are guaranteed at least a silver medal no matter how they play in the Final. Power house Team Canada will have the burden of expectation to win the gold. The Canadians better win tonight for a rematch of the 2002 Salt Lake Olympics with the Americans. It is David (Team USA) vs Goliath (Team Canada). It should be the Super Bowl of international hockey!!! Regardless who win, relax and enjoy!!! :)

Actually, it is Ryan Miller (Team USA) vs Goliath (Team Canada).
LOL!!! The one man wracking crew eh??? Ryan should change his first name to David then. Hockey is a team sport. Miller can stop a lot of pucks from going in net but he needs to score too??? His defense and forwards have to play superb to counter the mighty Canadians. The team that has the best team work and spirit will win.

There is one team that has a rep for imploding in the Olympics and it is not the USA. It the is country that was the favorite to win gold in the last 3 Olymmpics and came away with 1 medal during that time.

You are such an idiot.
Go crawl back under your rock.
How am I an idiot ?
I don't have a rock, but you seem to have extras in your head, think you could spare one ?

You made an ugly, obnoxious, arrogant comment that has no basis in the truth.
The U.S. men's hockey team seems to be for the most part (so far as I've seen, heard, and read) humble, focused, and team goal oriented.

It was, and watching it, it seemed for a moment possible that they could score up to a dozen before the game was done. The only thing I can compare it to is a game years ago in the WHL, when it was still more of a minor pro league on it's own, when the league leader scored 4 goals in 1:04 against the second best team. This was when the NHL still had six teams and more than a few players to be, and former players, were in the WHL. Record still stands as far as I know.

Indeed to score a dozen before the game ended sounds like a feasible feat if Team USA really tried. However, it seemed after the first period, Team USA realized that they had the game won and Team Finland was not trying hard to even the score, everything just eased up. What is the point of scoring another 6, shamed Finland further, caused a brawl between players, got some of them hurt or suspended, and caused negative publicity? It is much better to maintain sportsmanship and shake hands afterwards. Besides saving their energy for the final game will make more sense for both USA and Finland.

Did you mean the WHA ? WHA = World Hockey Association

The WHL is a Canadian Major Junior hockey league. WHL = Western Hockey League
