Wilson is also the head coach for the USA Olympic team
Burke is the GM
No way in the world he would fire the coach from the Leafs job this close to the opening of the games.
The USA press would have a field day.
No chance he would have to answer this question
"So Brian, Wilson is not good enough for the Maple Leafs but you feel he is the right guy for Team USA. is that right?"

Perhaps after the Vancouver games
Besides firing Wilson will not fix the issue- inconsistent goal-tending, the worst penalty kill in history & an over-all sub-standard level of talent.

I think they're in love.
Best buddies, lovers, and partners for life eh??? How romantic!!! It is only fitting to fire them both simultaneously then. LOL!!!

Honestly the US Olympic team should be very worry that Burke is its GM and Wilson is the head coach. Don't they have better candidates than these two stooges for these important jobs???

Also, when a NHL team fails so badly, the blame has to come from the top, starting with the GM and the head coach. Where is the renaissance these two stooges are supposed to bring to the Leafs??? Winning a game here and there does not count.

First off, I'm not a Leaf fan.

Did some of you people really believe that the Leafs would magically be good this year? Seriously, they have very little talent to work with, so what did you expect? JF jr ruined this team for at least the next 5 years. How would firing Wilson solve any problems at this point?

I am not a huge fan of Ron Wilson, I personally do not like his style or perhaps maybe just the way he comes across in the media. That being said no matter how good a coach you are you can't make chicken salad out of chicken shit. the team that is iced next year will be very very different from this years team.

after those changes then we can re-evaluate

Ok I guess I have to go through this yet again...

1. MSLE number one objective is to maximize shareholder value. What goes on at ice level has ZERO, NADA, ZIP connection with maximizing profits as long as the LAFFS fans continue to blindly open their wallets.

The Sens do not have the same huge mindless base of corporate ticket sales to people who only show up half way through the 1st period. A higher percentage of their ticket sales are to regular Joes who can only buy a 6 pack of games. Now this year the Sens are having a really shitty year and guess what has happened? Enough of the regular Joes have stopped buying tickets that the Sens have now reduced prices. The real market of supply and demand really can work...just not at the Air Canada centre.

2. Maple Laffs fans seem to have this disconnect between their proclivity to spend money on MSLE seats/ hats and jerseys and what they expect the Laffs to do on ice. FACT: Just because you continue to wear your Tie Domi jersey and you keep your Laffs hat on backwards when entering a building, you have absolutely no right to expect the Laffs to win on ice. FACT #2 Laffs hats and mullets are so 1999. Get your fucking hair cut and as a common courtesy show some class and etiquette and take off whatever hat you wear when you enter a building.

Simple solution: stop buying anything related to MLSE. Yes there have been a few small pockets of fans who have done this but why is it that nobody organizes some bigger boycott. Until you stop the cash flow MLSE doesn't give a shit about you and they definitely do not give a shit about having a winning team.

Love this. I'm going to have remember this quote. LMFAO:D
When in doubt, remember this: When life gives you a lemon, make lemonade out of it. These two stooges were paid big bucks to do the job but failed miserably. Hey if they cannot handle the heat and the mess, stay out of the kitchen.

People it's called re-building.
Yes the team right now is not a great team.
But we have some really good junior players that will make an impact next year.
Most of players on the team are younger players in the league for a couple of years.
You want to make a difference in the team get rid of Jason Blake. Next Year you put Kadri on the line with Kessel, and you have someone who can carry the puck in and set plays for Kessel, even fight for the puck in the boards and this will let Kessel be the sniper that he is. Right now he has no one. Have the time he carries the puke in himself.
I will wait till next season to judge.

Do not put a lot of hope on Kadri being the piece of the puzzle that corrects this ship
He might be a point a game center 3 years from now.
He might also be a bust
What I do know is he is very unlikely to light up the score sheet next year even with Kessler on his wing

Problem is the players are not doing what Wilson is telling them. More changes are needed on the ice. Rome want built in a day - give it time!

Pettie and the boys will NOT mess with their business.
Like the old Irish proverb already use on this board...If it ain't broken...don't break it!
They put in two competent men who are passionate about hockey and see the Leafs as a huge challenge and trophy if they succeed.
And so what if they're american. Give them 3 (full) years to see if they can make the playoffs.
Give'em five to hoist the Holy Grail of Hockey. (Anything less would be a dismall failure in this City).
As already mentioned, they are a team full of 3rd and 4th line players. What do you expect...the second coming of PUnch???
Stability always prevails over panic. Leafs haven't had that for a few years.
If nada happens...run'em out of town with american made M-16s if it makes you happy...
In the meantime, find a new hobby for the next few years if you can't bear watching them.
Mine is these forums on Terb...(maybe I need a second one..)

If the players are not doing what Wilson is telling them. What does it tell you about Wilson as a head coach??? If more changes are needed on the ice to get the Leafs to win, what does it tells you about Burke as a GM??? The Leafs under JFJ at least get close to playoffs many times but were never NHL door mats. The Leafs are hovering at the bottom of NHL so far this season. If Wilson and Burke are so great and deserved to be paid so much, why can't they bring the Leafs to some form of respectability in standing so far??? The Leafs being the perpetual door mat of NHL does not speak well of these two stooges.
