Well that would be Gyaos from Gamera, not the Battlestar Galactica where the Baltar part of your handle comes from. But whatever. Wow, you're so clever.
If you recall, Gaius Baltar became President in BG because too many voters spelt his name wrong, in fact "off screen" it was Gyaos, and had a recount.

Here, cook this:

Saw it, loved it. I fully expect it to make money. Here's an article I clipped off the net....

==========================

Avatar box office sales this holiday weekend helped the movie finish as the No. 1 film with $75 million in U.S. tickets and an updated global total of $617.3 million.

The gross box office sales for Avatar and two other films resulted in a $278 million Hollywood weekend, shattering the previous best three-day total of $261, when The Dark Knight debuted in July 2008.

Delving deeper into the numbers, Avatar only lost 3 percent from its previous weekend earnings (for a total of $212.3 in North America) and it is now officially the top December grosser ever, topping Will Smith's I Am Legend.

Internationally, Avatar was the No. 1 film on the foreign circuit for the second consecutive week. It has been most well-received in France, where it has generated more than $48 million in box office sales.

Avatar reportedly cost as much as $300 million to produce and market. Some believe the film could hit $1 billion in box office sales

I saw it too and liked it. I'm thinking of watching it a second time.
This time on one of the 3D screens to see what it's like in that format. I hope I don't have to buy 3D sunglasses to get the 3D effect.

Article on cost of Avatar. This article estimates $280 million for production and $150 million for marketing for a total cost of $430 million.

You should, its a different experience. You won't have to purchase any glasses, they'll be given to you (ypu don't get to keep them) and also the ticket will cost about 3 dollars more.

That guy was obviously a professional. What Cameron said to him was something along the lines of "You're the last person I'd give an autograph to".

It's funny how that get's glossed over in the TMZ report, or that the "fan" and his cemreaman followed Cameron for some time as he hurled insults at him while he waited for his vehicle.

Worldwide is now $642,993,860. 63.9% foreign vs a very poor 36.1% NA side.
Still in the MINUS column.

But if it cost $200 Million to make.....oh, it didn't.

.....as he hurled insults at him while he waited for his vehicle.
Why did he have to wait for his vehicle? He didn't have $20.00 to get it there quickly?
I made a jet first class to Hong Kong on $20.00. He spent $750M on this blue thing......and still waited? Even Michael Jackson's corpse got there faster.

I'm not sure I understand your issues but your comments seem at odds with the box office reports which are predicting a billion plus and claiming records for December and for IMAX showings. I have no idea how much it will bring in, but I'm sure it's already surpassed its cost. Around here the theaters are selling out and IMAX showings are sold out for days ahead.

I really don't care if you like Cameron or not, but still, math is math...

Whatever, the more you rant on about how “unprofitable” this film is the more and more you show how ignorant you are. No matter what silly biases you have, this film by all accounts is nothing more than another incredible financial success.

So what if the domestic numbers don’t match up to the foreign numbers on a 1:1 ration, they rarely ever do…are you so naïve to think that on a simultaneous internationally released film such as this that there would be an imbalance just based on the population numbers alone?

I mean domestically its only playing on less than 3500 screens, you really think looking at the number of foreign screens it’s been released on wouldm't be in a similarratio as the box office numbers? Just wait, it hasn’t even hit China yet.

Once again you just really show you have no idea what you’re talking about; outside of regurgitating numbers and facts you’ve pulled off of the internet.

Domestic: $309,011,000 39.4%
+ Foreign: $476,192,825 60.6%

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

= Worldwide: $785,203,825

and that's without the complete weekend results yet so I'm thinking that it's going to make lots of money...

Its now over $1 billion in gross, and still has a few months before it goes to video.
Obviously its gonna make a killing. Easily half a billion in profit when all is said and done
