That weak shot was going wide and he knocked it into the net.
Does that even count as a shot on net?

4 goals on 10 shots and he's out now.
Worst save percentage of any starter.

He had a couple of decent games but I still can't stand him.

JFJ can really pick goalies. Raycroft and Toskala under his management.

wish that was "years ago"

OMG man, that was like the "other side of the rink" goal from years ago...

that was last year....and on 2 of the other goals, he lost where the net was...way too far over to one side....when are the Leafs going to get a quality netminder?. Any Leaf team that has even been watchable over the last 20 yrs had a quality netminder...and Toskala is last in the league among starters. Meanwhile the Leafs are in the upper 1/3 in shots allowed....

With friends like Toskala, who needs enemies? Toskala and Jason Blake are not NHL calibre players.
are you on crack? Blake is the hardest working player on the team and gives it 100% for every game.

You could win the stanley cup every year with a team of blakes......not like crosby or malkin who are hot/cold/hot/cold/hot/cold.......

Only 1 year left of this Toskala debacle and then he'll be gone.

Hopefully The Monster's heart condition can be taken care of.

Nope. Talk to ANY coach. They'll tell you they'd rather have a team of good hardworking players who come to play every night than a bunch of super stars.

Super stars to a one (except maybe for Gretsky) have on again off again seasons and you can't win like that. Think of it: if you get 70 or 80% of your goal production from 2 or 3 players, if they are having an off night, how are you going to win? You won't. It is better to have a whole BUNCH of players who score occasionally.

Look at Washington. Take out Ovechkin and you've shut down a BIG part of the team and he's only one player.

Here's another example:

I used to play mixed softball. During the middle of my last season I got tagged out at second. When I got to the bench the coach said to me: You realize that is the FIRST time you've gotten out in 2 seasons?

I accounted (over the season) for more RBIs and runs than our hotshot homerun kings who almost always went for the long ball and 9 times out of 10, flied out. I NEVER hit homeruns. I never went for them. I always hit doubles and singles and if there was someone on base, a double is an RBI. An RBI is as good as a homer and there is NO risk of a fly out.

Put it another way: you have 10 guys. They're "average". They score 1 goal a game, every maybe 3rd of 4th game. That's 3 to 4 goals a night. EVERY night.

I'll trade Blake for Ovechkin in a heatbeat.
But to be honest, you'd have to trade Kessel Blake Pony and Kaberle to get Ovechkin......

So, you're saying you'd trade a whole line for Ovechkin? What happens when he gets suspended or injured? You'd be fuct.........

That's exactly what I'm talking about. You have a bunch of so-so players who fill the void when your stars aren't on the ice. When your stars don't perform, you're fuct.

Edit: good thing you didn't trade blake, he just scored...lol...2 - 1 over boston lol....

I'll make that trade if Toskala could be thrown in. Toskala is done as starting goalie in the NHL. The question is: at half of his current salary, would any team take him in the backup role?

Washington did pretty well without Ovechkin this season. They still have Backstrom, Semin who are young and talented.

Throw in 7 first rounder and MAYBE Washington will "consider" it.
