Since many picked it as a top 10 film of the decade... I loved it and will watch again.

I thought Tom Cruise was ok but the real outstanding acting was Ken Watanabe who played Katsumoto. And Koyuki is just STUNNING!!! The first scene, the charge of the Samurai is just awesome. Very high quality film with incredible cinematography

Tom Cruise was totally miscast in the role....Not believable as a Grizzled Battle Hardened Veteran...

The movie kind of fell apart after the Ninjas attacked the village....

Ending was pretty lame....The Final Charge was overly dramatic and of course Tom Cruise is the only one to survive....

And it wasn't close to being historically accurate...

Tommy Boy with his delusions of grandeur...

"Kate, I want my own big, historical epic where I can look cool and play with a big shiny sharp thingy! Mel has one, Russell has one, even kevin has one, whaaaaaaaaaaa, I want one, whaaaaaaaaaa!"

Tommy Boy should stick with Cocktail.

When I saw the poster for this film I laughed so hard I nearly chocked on a popcorn.

The Last Samurai is like Kingdom of Heaven; two historical epic could-have-beens ruined by miscast central characters. In the latter, not even the ultra-sexy Eva Green (Casino Royale) could save that film.

Whoa!!! I didn't recognize Ms Green. i like the Kingdom of Heaven, even with the literary licenses taken. going to have to watch Casino Royale again.

For those of you who like the Historical Samurai movies, check out John Woo's 'Red Cliff' a drama about one of the most famous battles of China's early history. A whole lot less special effects aka matrix affects, but some amazing cinematography .

I actually thought this was one of Tom Cruises better films.Very good acting
Tom Cruise may be a flake with his Scientology BS, but he is one of the best actors out there.

Samurai was a great movie. Don't know about top 10, but a very good movie none the less. Great performances all round, including Ken Watanabe who played Katsumoto.

I'm glad there's Terb love for this movie despite Tommy. I think it rocks. That charge out of the mist and the subsequent battle scene was amazing.

I agree with Insidious Von this and Kingdom of Heaven could've been legendary with some tinkering here and there.
