The article mentions two lesser known golfers plus Jesper. Jesper was predictible given that Elin used to work for him as his nanny.

So to put this in context that's 3 golfers out of 150 who have exempt or conditional playing status on the PGA Tour. While others may feel this way, and I'm sure there is no shortage of "family value" minded pro-golfers, I would think that the majority recognize that this is really none of their business.

Plus when Tiger sat out 8 months while he rehabed his knee PGA viewership dropped 60%.

It's in every player's interest to have Tiger on the tour.

I like Jack Nicklaus' response when asked about the Tiger Woods affair.

"It's none of my business"

Ben Crane calling Woods a phony and a fake is ridiculous.
Would he say this to the face of every man who has ever cheated on his wife?

I am not condoning adultery but this does not diminish all the good that Tiger has done for the game and numerous charities.

Absolutely, Tiger is credited with increasing the profile of golf worldwide, attracting new sponsors, and increasing the purses for each tournament to unprecidented amounts. Virtually all of the tour players now are millionaires because of Tiger, they should kiss his ass. Those two idiots who spoke out should learn how to keep their mouths shut. They're nobodys anyway, lowly players on the tour. As far as Jasper, he also should keep his mouth shut. If he really felt bad for introducing Elin to Tiger, then tell it to Elin and her family, not go on television and tell the world.

Sorry it may not be a popular statement on TERB, but he and his wife are the two people who have every right in the world to say this.

Why? What right, I don't understand why they have to go on national media and say that? What are they gaining or for what purpose? The public doesn't blame them for the introduction to Tiger, that's ludicrous. They should go to Elin and her family and apologize to them, they're the ones who really deserve it not the public, I couldn't give two shits about him telliing me this, doesn't make me think any better of him, in fact less. In these sensitive situations one should learn the best way to handle this is to keep your mouth shut and let the principals in question work it out in how they see best.

btw, those two golfers Crane and Warren told the press they never made those statements and are in disbelief about this, Crane said he hasn't talked to anyone in the press in weeks. Figures, that huffingtonpost is just a bunch of crap, I wouldn't believe anything about anybody on that BS site.

Nicklaus isn't saying so but, I bet he feels a little more comfortable about his 18 majors record as well!

Golfers say they weren't interviewed about Woods

By DOUG FERGUSON (AP) – 1 hour ago

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Two golfers quoted by a weekly magazine as making disparaging remarks about Tiger Woods and his marriage said Thursday night they never spoke to the publication.

In a story that Life & Style posted on its Web site, Ben Crane is quoted as saying Woods is a "phony and a fake" and that Woods' wife knew about allegations of extramarital affairs. It also quotes Charles Warren as saying Woods' wife "had stars in her eyes and maybe dollar signs too" and should leave him.

The magazine said in a statement it was investigating.

"This is unbelievable," Ben Crane told The Associated Press from his Dallas-area home. "I never said a word about anything. They print this and put my name next to it."

Warren said through his agent that he has not given an interview of any kind in two months.

"I have not spoken to Life & Style magazine, so there is no story here," Warren said in a statement.

Crane's agent, Tommy Limbaugh of 4UManagement, said a magazine official told him the interview took place at the PGA Tour Qualifying tournament last week at Bear Lakes Country Club in West Palm Beach, Fla.
Crane finished 51st on the PGA Tour money list this year and was not at Q-school. Warren, who finished 147th on the money list, withdrew from Q-school before the final round. He was too far back to earn his card.

"We sent an experienced freelance reporter to a golf tournament attended by several PGA pros," the magazine said in a statement. "Our reporter spoke with two golfers who presented themselves as Ben Crane and Charles Warren. We are taking these claims very seriously and investigating further."

Asked if the magazine took photos of the golfers it interviewed, a spokeswoman declined further comment. Life & Style published the quotes Wednesday afternoon, and several Web sites posted them Thursday.
Crane said he first learned about the quotes Thursday morning when his agent called.

"At that point, I was like, 'OK, that's the farthest thing from the truth,'" Crane said. "I didn't realize I should be proactively calling you and (other journalists) until all of a sudden the tour called and said they wanted to run it (on television)."

Jack is a total class act.
Tiger has been great for the game and Jack has enjoyed the show as much as anybody.
I really believe that Jack would be happy for Tiger if he breaks his record although he would probably be more happy if his record stands.

Denouce Woods? Are you kidding? He's Thai by his mother, and that's where I get laid ALL I WANT! So, I support Tiger and his mother for being Thai.

I for 1 don't believe for a second that those 2 golfers were NOT interviewed by the media. I'm sure they said what they were quoted as saying.

In the meantime, some organization has phoned them up and informed them that their asses are sorely in a sling if they take wacks at other golfers, Tiger-W in particular.

Hence, the unconvincing backtrack.

I have the utmost respect for Jack, but I can't help but think he may be slightly relieved that today's technology didn't exist when he was touring constantly. I'm sure he was very sought after by the ladies in his day and who knows?
