The Business her husband owned grew during the course of the marriage such that at the time of the divorce action he was receiving personal income of three to four million dollars a year. From the perspective of the court she enabled that growth.

I have a serious problem with this. I'm sure his business would have grown at the same/similar rate had she stayed at home or not. With that kind of money coming in, you can bet they had nannies for the kids. All she had to do was sit at home and enjoy the fruits of his labors.

I don't see how it helps his image to have the world know that he's paying his wife to stay married to him because she caught him cheating. But lots of things in this world are based on appearances without substance, so yeah, I kinda understand it.

No, that was just one example of many many MANY examples. I know not one of my friends or friends of friends who a) stayed married for more than 5 yrs (some as little as 1 year) and b) where the husband didn't end up getting screwed in some sense. I've even had women say that they have it made and KNOW they are screwing their ex husband(s) and are almost giddy about it.

I guess these women have no pride, to make it on their own, to be an independant woman of the new millenium.

But this is just another example of why I hate the wealthy: left to their own devices these kept women would be destitute in a month.
