Flakes count. The record will be set at the downtown station which has been recording the weather since 1847. In that entire period there has never been a November without so much as a few flakes falling. I don't doubt that the Markham station may have recorded some flurries--it's usually a little warmer down by the lake.

However there's a 40% chance of wet flurries tonight.. it depends what happens between now and midnight, whether we set the record or not.

Due to Global Warming, the world weather outlook is fast changing, there are some places which i know off used to get rain for the whole season not more than 12 mm's just like desert, now gets heavy rains and it really pours there, so the world is changing in all respects now a day's anything or everything is possible with present time and day:)
so its nothing new that we did not get snow during November, 2009 breaking the history of 162 years.

Specifically, Pearson has not recorded a November without snow since it began tracking such things in November 1937.

The downtown station has not recorded a November without snow since it began tracking 162 years ago in 1847.

When was the last November without snow?

Nobobody knows. We have only been tracking for 162 years downtown and for 72 years at Pearson, in which time it has never happened.

At this point there's still a 40% chance it won't happen this year either...

According the noon news that last snow free November was 1937!!!!!!!!
Either the noon news got it wrong or you've misunderstood, which is easy to do, since many news outlets haven't reported this in clear terms.

There has never been a record of a snow free November.

The record goes back to 1937 at Pearson and 1847 downtown. Neither weather station has ever recorded a snow free November.

The news reports it as "since 1937" implying that there was a snow-free November in 1937, but the reality is that 1937 is simply the start of the record, not the last snow free November.

There may *never* have been a snow free November: all we know is there has never been one since we started recording.

Did it snow much last year?
Not really. Didn't use the snowblower much at all last winter, maybe 7 times total in Buffalo.

Can't be due to Global Warming though because our brilliant conservative friends say GW is all a hoax.....FAUX news tells em so!...

I saw snow out my window a few weeks ago.

It just wasn't ever snowing outside the weather office at Pearson International when they wrote down the current conditions.

Where are you guys living? I bought a new snowthrower last year and used it more than 12 times.

I kept count, because I have this stupid trick where I want to get it down to a reasonable per use cost, eg. 12 usages into $960 = $80/use in year 1.

After a couple of years, it becomes really cheap to use.

It had better bloody well snow. I just put new BF Goodrich winter/snow tires on. This is the first time in 15 years that I can remember putting brand name rubber on. The last snows were Viking, which were actually pretty good.
