I'm probably going to buy a DVD, GPS, Handsfree, Touchscreen stereo at some point but in the meantime I need a quick solution for the phone.

My main criteria is that I don't sound like I'm in a shoebox when speaking, the second being ease of use.

Any recommendations??

Thanks!

I purchased a Yada handsfree at Canadian Tire (sells for $129 but they run a sale on it regularly for half. It's servicable...nothing special. The sound quality is good at both ends. I live in the south west and if I get too far from the 401 it will cut out, which my phone doesn't do. But if you're in the GTA it should be ok. A caution: it seems people with Blackberry's have sound problems with these units.

Another interesting choice might be the Canadian Tire Yada unit at $19.99. Seems similar to mine only a lot cheaper.

Both are visor clip ons

I've talked to few folks that have either Parrot or BlueAnt bluetooth speakerphones and the BlueAnt seems to be a lot better.. the Supertooth 3 does text to speech. I'm going to be getting one of these while down in the states in a few weeks.. The parrot sets received less than stellar feedback.

For the Blueant specs look here

factory direct.ca their best motorola bluetooth 40 smackers. I suggest doing homework first before purchasing, then take it from there. Discount people/stores can save you major bucks.

Good luck,

Check for reviews online before purchasing.. when you get into the higher end units, you start to get into dual microphone noise supression technology.

I've got a thirty dollar Motorolla Bluetooth earpiece that sounds great in a low noise environment.. but for window down in the car, walking down the street, at the Mall use, I've got a BlueAnt ... it's amazing.. sounds better than the phone by itself..

I have a Motorola bluetooth that I picked up at XS Cargo as a refurb for under $30 and it sounds fine most times, but in high noise environments it is probably not a great solution.

My Garmin GPS comes with bluetooth, and that is what I use now. People know I'm in the car which is fine with me.

I bought the Motorola bluetooth headset for $90. It is very simple to use. Press and hold button for 5 seconds to pair phone, once to mute, once to swap call waiting, double click to hang up...

It has auto volume adjust but the best feature is that it will pair 2 phones at once and if you have both phones in the car, whichever rings first it will BT connect and let you take the call from it.
