Digital Underground was dope. They were churning out Parliament & Funkadelic party beats from the West Coast before G-Funk took over. Tupac was one of their crew. Not alot of people know that.

EPMD was amazing when I first heard them. They were the 1st act that I could remember that sampled Roger T and the Zapp band. They were bringing back the early 80's funk which was fresh, since most crews were sampling jazz & James Brown.

Rakim was the first MC that totally blew me away with his flow.

Big Daddy Kane with Scoob & Scrap Lover were also hype. They brought back the James Brown style of dancing.
