Should Fleury be in the hall of fame

If Harold Ballard is in the HOF, I would think Fleury would be a lock.
Too bad he didn't support his team mate Sheldon Kennedy; a scourge in hockey could have been dealt with. Instead it's inevitable that another Craig James or David Frost will arise.

This little 5'6 guy averaged more than a point per game during his NHL career and has won a Stanley Cup, Olympic Gold Medal, Canada Cup and World Junior Gold Medal. I wish he came back sooner, but even though he never made the Flame's during this years try-out's, he's content with himself and what happened and is ready to move-on.
He definitely deserves to be in the Hockey Hall of Fame. Players like Clark Gillies don't.

heck, he's even done far more for the game than Mats Sundin has ever done, and Mats is considered a lock whenever he decides he's retired...

Sundin will get in just because he's the highest scoring Swede and Leaf in NHL history. Same thing with Mike Modano getting in since he is the highest scoring American. Although both Sundin and Modano were good players, I wouldn't necessarily consider them to be among the greats.
The greatest Swede if he was healthy his entire career was Peter Forsberg, and the greatest American if he was healthy was Pat Lafontaine.
I'll agree with most of what you said however the greatest Swede IMHO is Nick Lidstrom. Even at his peak Forsberg did not control a game like Lidstrom.
I was thinking Lidstrom as well when I made my comment since he's one of the top 3 defensemen of all time and he has 6 Norris trophy's, 4 Stanley Cup's and an Olympic Gold Medal to prove it. However, when I mentioned Peter Forsberg I was comparing him to Mats Sundin since they're both centers.
Forsberg has also won a Calder, Art Ross and Hart trophy to go along with 2 Stanley Cups, 2 Olympic Gold Medals and 2 World Championships. He might have had even more awards but his career was filled with injuries.
Jr A World Champ, Canada Cup Champ, Olympic Champ. Over 1000 points, many times considered the underdog because of his size, but always proved that he could play.

That seals in my opinion with these revelations the sentimental value along with his career achievements will get him in. Also to be brutualy honest I have the utmost respect for him now as a man.
