Don't forget that he's fat too........

Just watched Lefty Moore being interviewed by Wolf Blitzer, and he's adamant about America pulling out of Afghanistan...can't win yada yada. Then, after Blitzer challenges him on capturing those responsible for 9/11, what do you know, he says absolutely yes they need to be captured and brought to justice. Does he think OBL is just going to walk into US hands without combat??? Lefty speaks from both sides of his rather large mouth.
Why is he lefty moore?.....I ask this because his movie is about the very subject of the marches on Washington last week by some very angry citizen who I doubt would characterize themselves as liberals.

Was i wrong that this march was in part stoked by anger from americans who feel spending(Wall street Bail out would be one of the biggest to date.Agreed?)is out of control and areas like wall street are too blame for some of our financial woes?I think alot of people who don't like him very much will find this movie interesting either way.

I believe the folks involved in the planning of 9/11 are either long dead or long gone.If we must chase ghosts over there.......chase them with other ghosts(special forces, blackops, other wetwork organizations...HOWEVER make them accountable).Right now, All foreign troops over there are target pratice for IED's .That's never going to change.NEVER.

interesting assessment by some progressives who think he went to far.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tTF3B8YBU5I

…Edit…I completely disagree with that. What I think needs to happen is every time Michael Steele or Sarah Palin or a GOP Senator/congressman/governor starts rambling on about death panels and government rationing or control or denying treatment based on race the media needs to cut them off, point out the lie, and refuse to let them spread their message until they admit to what the truth is. The result would be zero coverage of the GOP outside maybe 4 people for months, possibly all the way to the midterm election.

You fight lies with truth and denial of access, not more lies.
While I'm all for less sensationalistic media that take time to analyse and present facts that show up the liars and propagandists, where's the economic incentive for them to do so? Screaming headlins and juicy clips attract saleable eyeballs, and they're in the eveball selling game, not the truth game. Facts are not hot, they're plain jane. Once you pass beyond the rough-and-tumble democracy of what story sells and what folks want to buy, you're into truth panels. And they're as odious as the other kind.

You fight lies anyway you can. But wouldn't it be nice if we could lower the noise level. I've never been attracted to screaming pitchmen.

Most people with half a brain realized a long time ago that Moore has an agenda and is not above fracturing a few facts so that he can make the big bucks.

Here's a great example of what you do when someone won't be straight with you.

Beck wont answer what he meant by white culture when he accused Obama of having a deep seated hatred of it, and Couric stayed on it until he looked like a coward for refusing to answer. I don't think many people would have stayed on point like that.

moore was on howard stern this morning. i thought it was an excellent interview, at least 45 minutes long.

they touched on all the points addressed in this thread.

stern (as per usual with other guests) asked him how much he made from his movies, and moore, as predicted, explained that his revenue from the movies is greatly exxagerated, sure he may be lying but he did back up his assertion, and i believed him.

i also didnt know that he has offered a 10,000$ open "reward" for anyone who can find a lie in any of his movies. no one thus far has called him on it.

anyway, great interview, sorry i wish i could post a link to it, but as far as i know its not accessible.

Wish Katie could do the same to that other pompous arse Mullah Limbaugh who does exactly the same dodging Bonkers Beck does!
Katie was great in making Beck look like the TOTAL Horse's arse he is!....

I find it pretty amusing that Moore releases a movie espousing the evils of capitalism, and he's out doing the talk show circuit promoting his movie, for the sole purpose of making money. Looks a bit hypocritical to me.

Look forward to his defenders who'll claim its not about the money.

Yeah right....is that why I've seen his face more in the last week than in the last 5 years put together? Don't be so naive. He's promoting it, pure and simple.

More an Education Seminar for the Myopic Right

Not at all BU.

It's an education that the myopic righties are in dire need of.
It's about time they be shown what their 'Greed Is Good' policies have done to the USA and World. Mikey Moore has a very effective way of illustrating this.
You have much to learn yet, grasshopper....;)

I am tempted to agree with bottomsup, Moore glosses over his success far too much to be completely credible. But since Moore has given away his work in the past (forget the name but the film on voting) I will reserve some judgment until I see what he charges for the DVD.

Heaven, definately Heaven
He has no reason to tell a caller how much money he has.
Capitalism treats MM really good, for someone who says it fails. That's the argument I'm making. I'm sure his argument is strong, but that's with a $100 Million bank account, not someone trying to get their very first book published with the ability to fuck women to get it done. LOL

BTW, so you know, he received a $22 Million advance on "Sicko". Plus the cost to make a documentary is 1% the cost to make "Transformers 2" and he made quite a few, so multiply the revenue, DVD sales, distribution rights x 5. Any "high" guess of his bank account would be quite close to what it is. So, he has no reason to say what he has, but he does have a contradiction to his argument. Maybe if "Cap: A Luuuv Story" was made during "Roger and Me", okay.......but it is not.

Maybe an example of someone doing the transition right will help: Chris Rock. Rock got famous on bits about racism and the ghetto (in addition to all sorts of great comedy) that he still talks about even though he's no longer living that life. But he's acknowledged the shift and deals with this material from that new position of being powerful but remembering life before then. simplest example when he says to white people "none of you would trade places with me. AND I'M RICH!"

Moore puts himself in the centre of his films but ignores that his perspective has changed over his career, I think thats disingenuous.

MM MAIN critique is that Capitalism works mainly for the FEW while the MANY get the crumbs today! The playing field was much MORE level after WWII than today.

MM argues things can and should be adjusted to make Capitalism work better for all. Of course the FEW 1% who hold most of the wealth in the USA feel threatened by this and are squealing like a pen of stuck pigs, along with their mindless apologists who do as ordered!....:p

Why does that bother you?

In history it has always been the well off that have taken it upon themselves
to agitate for improvements in the conditions of the poor.

Are you expecting a homeless mental patient to reach an audience and
effect change. Roosevelt, the Kennedy's, Johnson etc were all rich, but
fought to improve conditions for the poor. And let us not forget Engels,
Che, etc etc.

What exactly do your silly ramblings have to do with your hero doing his shameless get rich self promotions and then having the gall to call capitalism 'evil'?

I actually think this is what makes the right wingers go batty over MM. He is
beating them in their own game.

Diffence is MM has a social conscience about it and wants to help others.
While those greedy ones you shill for just want to horde more, even though they admit they don't need it.

Big difference but you need a conscience to understand this grasshopper!....;)
