While I am happy to hear this, I thought the reason this was an issue was because there were many other std's associated with oral sex that were more prevalent than hiv.

Really Retired.....REALLY!
Well that may be true, but how many did you find in terms of transmission of ghonorreah, chlamidia, herpes, warts, syphilis, hepatitis, etc?

It is not just HIV we are worried about, and while some of these diseases are not life threatening and cureable it is something I certainly don't want to deal with period!

Glad to hear of this study confirming what we have all heard over and over about HIV and oral sex. The rest is fear-mongering. As for other std's, we'll keep disagreeing with each other, some opting for a you-can't-be-too-careful style, others managing their risks by avoiding the world of open sores yet otherwise enjoying some of life's richest intimate pleasures.

I like a nice wet BJ as much as the next, but guys - once and for all - as homonger and Sasha have already pointed out, there IS a real risk present in bbbj, not of acquiring HIV, but of acquiring other non-curable viral infections like herpes and hepatitis B - both of which transmit quite easily.

I think each person will decide for themself how to balance what they require in terms of sexual excitement with the amount of risk involved with different activities.

The problem is that no one really does know the exact amount of risk involved. There is so much conflicting data out there, we end up believing the info we want to believe and use that as the basis of how we conduct our activities. As time goes on, the numbers should become clearer, but for now it's still uncertain.

A good rule of thumb is that when 2 people are together, the wishes of the person with the lower risk tolerance should be the ones that are honoured, in terms of safety.

Frankly.... i'll take it any way that the beautiful Sasha wants to give it. Life is too short to catch the big bug or any of the little ones for that matter.

ER ON THE SIDE OF CAUTION !

That there is a vaccine for Hepatitis B (HBV) that will prevent infection.

There sure is.

There's 3 injections that spans 6 months. I just finished mine. From what the doctor tells me, the 1st is about 75% effective, the 2nd is a booster, one month later, and that increases your safety margin to 90% (for 3 yrs). The last, 6 months after your 1st injection, covers you for life and is 100% effective.

Even before you receive your first injection, some doctors insist that you get tested first (to see if you already have it). But, you do have the option of just getting the shots without a test (I suggest you do get tested first).

It's nice to have that extra layer of protection, especially in this hobby.

We had some posts from a guy that toured clubs in German where BBBJs seemed to be the norm. Perhaps BBBJ attract controversy on this board because it is not the norm for the ladies that post here. The debate seems more on what is accepted, rather then what presents the most risk.

Many guys are after DFK, yet I would expect DFK to be riskier then BBBJ, although it attracts no controversy.

DFK, DATY, DP, CFS, BBBJ << which services present the most risks.

The Hep B vaccine does not grant lifetime immunity. You must periodically test for antibody levels. I do this at my annual physical and one year I found I had no immunity and had to repeat the vaccinations. It was 12 years after the first round but it does happen.
