Interesting read. Still very early in the overall process of course. Also to be clear, every country had/has a different situation and there is no 'one solution fits all' approach being suggested here.

A really key note here is the report/findings are based on observed data rather assumptions and models.

This is the first article I have seen what I suspect many more to come I'm sure of 'what we have learned when we look back' - and we can only hope as we learn more (country by country) we can make better decisions - both government and citizens - as time goes on.

That is extremely interesting.

The article says that Norway would have done no worse if it had done what Sweden did.

The question then is: Why has Norway had 236 deaths while Sweden has had 4266 deaths?

Perhaps the data when it is reviewed and calculated (not estimated/modeled) will come out that with lockdown Sweden would have experienced 2,500-4,000 deaths even with lockdown? Just a guess of course, waiting for the data and really smart people to figure it out.

Appreciate you having an open mind. As we have all seen, DS99 will spew and spew that because Denamark, Norway and Sweden are 'similar', painting a picture they should be almost 'identical when experiencing this virus', that somehow that means they would experience the same results from the same government actions. His thinking is as silly as thinking since one blond SP can deepthroat then all blond SP's should be able to deepthroat (haha, remember we are on TERB, you know, an escort review board - had to use an SP analogy for old times sake) - when in reality, each countries experience with the virus will be unique to them - good luck ever getting that simple concept through DS99's thick skull.

Anyways, will watch for more reports/studies in the MONTHS to come (DS99, this is just the first of many for sure) and as you said danmand, it's interesting and hopefully our government will do much of the same review and reporting to help them better govern in the years to come.

One last key note from the article:

There might be a strong story to tell. The UK data, when assembled, might well show that hundreds of thousands would have died without lockdown – and that, while brutal, it was vital. But if the data points to something different, as it has in Norway, then this is a discussion worth having.

This same rear view mirror calculations will most certainly confirm the immense value lockdown measures taken in certain countries have achieved, the U.K. for example even from a simple high level view appears to be this way. As I have said, each country experience will be and continue to be unique to it's combination of citizens and government.

If you're asking for an open mind danmand is definitely not your man.

.
Seeing as Sweden did NOT lock down, what MIGHT have happened if they did lock down can only be estimated, unless there is an alternate Sweden universe. There can be no actual numbers/data for something that didn't happen.

Correct.

Big Data technology will allow them however to calculate out much more accurate modelling based accurate details captured from the last 3 months.

Regardless of Sweden, the report and calculations from Norway are interesting and suspect more reflection/review/reverse calculations will be done like this for many countries as time goes on.

Anyone who isn't delusional knows that. The lockdown is not about Covid. Its about radical leftists trying to size power through crippling the economy and blasting propaganda through a multitude of liberal news rags.

If you ever find yourself in a position where your best option is to plead not guilty by reason of insanity and you need a character witness, give me a call.
