Please don't misquote me, Phil. I NEVER said that they were as big as NY or LA or Bost. I said that they are a big market and probably the wealthiest owner, but I am realistic enough to know not on the same scale as those other teams. The prez admits straight up that they are a big market, but on the smaller side of the biggest markets. You always stated, without comparisons, that the Jays were NOT a big market, period. The bolded quotes above say otherwise
Actually the bolded quotes dont say that. Shapiro says we are more of a large-middle market or a small-big market (which I agree with).
I would say we're the biggest middle-market team in MLB, and just below the big market teams.

And thats the last I'm gonna say about this. I'll give you the last word because I know thats important to you

So if the big market teams are clubs like Boston, NYY, Mets, Dodgers, Cubs...etc, and if Jays are not at that same level like you admit, how exactly does that leave the Blue Jays as a big market team??

I'm not sure what the debate is here for fuck sakes. The "market" is the audience the team gets. This is big market, especially since you can't even see the rest of the market because they're out of province. There's no "if" "and's" or "but's" about it. It's a big market team even when they're doing bad at the gate.

Ah, so you're saying Toronto is a 3rd tier market team then??

Big market: Toronto
Bigger market: ?????
Biggest market: NNY, Mets, LAD, RedSox, Cubs

I can think of something that is 3rd tier, but I will be polite.

Bad news for the Yankees. Great news for the Jays.
I thought for a second that Troy Tulowitzki had been ruled medically unfit for yet another season of earning a multi million $ salary there.

Are my eyes bad (cataract surgery scheduled for April) or does Vlad's size look pretty similar to last year?

Troy Tulowitzki never earned multi millons there. He earned it here even when he was playing for them, and still earning here. If you want to call it "earning".

Get that surgery quick, Vladi always had a big ass that's how he generates torque. The difference this year is he's not a Portuguese Lothario. His gut doesn't match his ass.

The Jays will always be a 3rd tier club unless they build a new stadium. Rogers centre is becoming dilapidated.

Funny, because everytime I rip on the Rogers Centre, everyone here tells me it's not that bad of a stadium and are happy with it.

I think your going to here some time this year some news. They have a decision to make. Either build a new stadium on bring this one up to speed. I know there have been meetings between the Jays, City Councillors and Real Estate groups, so something must be in the works.

I figured I'd hear something after my discussion at the Ontario Place Rectangle. He wasn't someone spreading gossip, part of his shipping business is delivering concessions to sporting events. I would probably be fine with Rogers Center as well, it's like going to watch an IMAX film. But I've taken in games at Wrigley Field, it's substandard.

Spring training report.

Bo and Vladi are getting their timing right, they both mashed against the Pirates. Chase Anderson will probably not make the team, he's been driving his tatter truck to the mound. Anthony Alford and Teoscar Hernandez are still giving up runs by fucking up in the outfield. Alford has tremendous speed on the bases but it's highly doubtful he'll make the team. Nate Pearson is lights out, he's only given up one hit so far. It's not just his 97 mph fastball, his change up is so nasty that it leaves opposing batters stupefied. Sending him back to the Minors cannot be justified. Bo may be a better all round hitter but Vladi strikes fear in opposing pitchers. He's now giving interviews in English, asked if he could hit Pearson's change up, he said "probably not".

The Yankees showing some class, they're making the trip to Montreal.

Vladdie actually looks bigger (and more muscular) to me. Looks like he's been hitting the weights hard

Sad Blue Jays news on a Monday afternoon, former Blue Jays great John Olerud's daughter passed away this weekend at 19.
She (Jordan) had a very rare genetic disorder.
