About once a year there's a story about how the identity of Zodiac has been uncovered. Then within a few weeks, it blows away.

The "case breakers" mentioned here claim to link Zodiac to the 1966 murder of Cheri Jo Bates. However, experts long ago dismissed the idea that Zodiac killed Bates, even though he took credit for her murder. Zodiac was a narcissist and wouldn't let any opportunity slip by to take credit for murders. He had done this a few times.

The killings Zodiac definitely committed always included letters to newspapers describing in great detail how the murder was carried out. With the murders he took credit for but didn't commit, he would never provide any proof, other than to say he did it.

Never say never, but the odds are that Zodiac won't ever be identified. The only reliable witness identification of Zodiac in 1969 put his age at about 40 to 45. If he's still alive, he'd be well into his 90s.

Actually, there was almost certainly no grassy knoll shooter. Oswald was the lone gunman and all evidence points to that.
