You're discounting the stupid vote. The stupid vote has a lot of clout in the USA, and being intelligent has never been a prerequisite for the VP spot on the Republican ticket. It DOES seem to be necessary for the top spot--GWB at best played dumb.
But for the VP slot? Two words: Dan Quayle.
Sadly Mr Potatoe head Danny was trumped by ditzy Sarah Palin.....:eyebrows:
The USA and World dodged a bullet on that one......
There are much better candidates and likely candidates. To name but three: Governor Pawlenty, Ambasador Huntsman and Mayor Giuliani

I don't really think the republicans "really really" meant her to be pres or vp, she's very presentable , they needed someone...and it helps she's a woman.
There is something about her otherwise she woudn't be kicked around in the media all the time. Media likes her.

Governor Zanunu had it pegged on the weekend. She won't run, as she will be more effective outside with fewer rules, more press, and more money

Veterans Affairs? She can't even shoot straight. Has anyone ever seen her drive anything? Sorry Aartie, she couldn't even run Alaska well and it can run itself. With the ongoing proof of her lack of knowledge of almost anything important as well as her inability to talk about anything with a script, she'd be dangerous in charge of almost anything.
