Younger Canadians' views of our country and its institutions getting progressively worse: Nanos survey

Canadians' satisfaction with our country continues to decline, especially when it comes to perceptions of our political institutions, according to a new national survey by Nanos Research. And younger Canadians have the bleakest view of the nation out of all age groups.

This is our future and it is concerning, I`ve noticed it since the beginning of the pandemic. I talk with many people when I am working outside, many of them teens. The tension and anxiety they exhibit is palpable, they are actually not clueless or dumb. They are facing a future much less certain and wildly unstable, unlike the life many guys on Terb enjoy. We savor our home ownership, savings, investments, company pensions, cars, motorcycles and so many luxury perks. This extensive list is vanishing before their eyes. Is there an answer? Realistically and truthful? I have many neighbors my age, mid 60`s, and they all say " How are the young kids gonna` get by?" Here`s hoping.

In order for people like myself to make more money, I would have to go into management. But those are the last people I would ever want to be like. Those MFers work like 12hrs every day plus weekends. Not the life I want.

Sometimes I feel like cashing out and moving to an Island or maybe a US city.

Decline for young men started in 1978, especially for men without degrees. Here is a chart for wages. Same story for pensions and would not be surprised to find a chart with a decline in company retirement health benefits, by the way.
