You can let go of 347 AC because it's alternating current. I.e. It's a sinusoidal wave which is 0 volts 60 times a second (60 hertz AC)

It's high voltage DC current that you can't let go of because it's just on.

The subway runs at 600 volts DC for example. You don't want to touch that third rail.
Ah. The electrician I talked to used to speak in riddles without ever giving an answer I could understand.
Question: why don't you need a common on a single phase 208 appliance? only two hots and a ground. Answer" energy can neither be created or destroyed.

Question: How do you get 208 volts on a three phase feed when you have 3 120 volt lines. Answer 1632438065757.png

My dads best friend had a horse farm. Along the top of the fence was a "shock" wire. It gave you a good zap... but I doubt it would kill you.
My mom has horses and goats with the electrical wire/rope (looks like a white shiny rope) running along the top of the fence. It seems to work and prevent them from jumping or ramming the fence.

She had pigs a few years ago with multiple electric wires on the fencing and it didn't phase them, they routinely went through it.

I've had a few minor shocks from the wires and while it isn't pleasant, I wouldn't say deadly. At least not the wires she is using.
