Here's the article.
A woman in her 20s is lucky to be alive after allegedly being pushed from the 11th floor of a North York highrise.
Toronto Police were responded to a gun call at 150 Graydon Hall Dr., near Don Mills and York Mills Rds. when the woman fell and destroyed a ground floor satellite dish that may have saved her life.
She was among four people, including a female undercover cop, who suffered injuries during the 4:58 p.m. Wednesday incident.
The incident occurred after a woman called 911 to report a gun, police said.
Police went to a 19th-floor unit and then to an apartment on the 11th floor where they found a massage parlour and a woman who was screaming on the balcony, police alleged.
Officers had to break a door to enter the balcony but failed to stop a man from allegedly “throwing” a woman over the railing, police said.
Police said a scuffle broke out as they tried to arrest the man, who now faces a slew of charges.
A woman, who is suspected of being a madame of the parlour, was also detained by police.
Officers alleged the madame operates other sex dens in the quiet and well-kept building.
Toronto Police Const. Tony Vella said officers were responding to “unknown trouble” at the unit and refused to comment further on the case because it was being probed by the Special Investigations Unit, because police were involved when the woman suffered her injuries.
Meanwhile, more than 100 residents were kept waiting to get into the building which was sealed with police tape for several hours.
“We were kept in lockdown inside the building for more than an hour,” said tenant Amanda Leduc, 32. “I am a little concerned about my safety.”
She said tenants were forced by security to stay inside their units during the incident.
“I am very shocked by what has happened,” said a resident who identified himself as Derrick, 28. “This is just a little bit too close to home.”
SIU officials refused to comment on their probe late Wednesday.
A man who responded to the name 'wazup' was spotted in one of the rooms and refused to leave until he received his happy ending. He quickly got dressed and eluded police while they were distracted, and is still at large. Anyone with information on this individual is urged to call crimestoppers.
