Would you work in or live in a building that was formerly a funeral parlor?

I just came back from my bike ride. I rode by a building that use to be a funeral parlor. When I was a kid, just driving by the place was uncomfortable for me. Many small family run funeral homes have closed and the big box funeral chains have all the business. This funeral home closed up 5 or 6 years ago and was renovated. Since then 3 or 4 businesses have come and gone from the place. I noticed tonight that the latest business is in the process of closing up only after a year there. There are also people living in the apartments upstairs. Would you work or live in a building that was formerly a funeral parlor?

Yes, especially if the government buried toxic waste nearby that made all the corpses come to life so I could fight them with my friends.

Just the residual formaldehyde in the place would be a deal killer.

Would I work or live in a former funeral parlour? What difference does that make? As long as the building is currently safe and habitable, I don't really see what the issue is at all.

I'm neither religious nor superstitious, so the fact that dead people used to occupy a certain building has no impact on me.

Sure, it's actually not so different from the way I live. Last week I sold my 1000 porn dvd collection for a measly $250. I had totally forgotten about them since 2005. It turns out they were all stashed in my basement cellar behind all the bodies.

Then you have the people who live in apartments over active Undertakers establishments.
Roughly the equivalent of living in an apartment over a meth lab.

Have a priest perform the rite of exorcism to cast out any
evil spirits in the building for some peace of mind before
move-in.

If the funeral parlor is in China the Taoist or Buddhist rituals
could be more effective in exorcising haunted building.

But who exorcises the priest?

Just checked with my handy dandy engineer and the word is, if the Funeral Parlour has been shut down for 3 or 4 months, then you probably get more formaldehyde from new carpet and press board than from what's left in the premise. The stuff dissipates relatively quickly.

So go for.

My doctor has his clinic in a building that was formerly a funeral parlour. Doesn't seem to freak out any of the patients - at least not the one's that get out before darkness falls.
