Alan Young, a Toronto law professor, has recently published a book called "Justice Defiled". In it he condemns Canadian laws that make possession or the sale of recreational drugs a crime; he also condemns all laws that prohibit sexual relations between consenting adults based on an exchange of money.
He makes a lot of other points and finds that there are some very disturbing features to the Canadian legal system (much of it has to do with lawyers - most of whom, he says, deserve the name: Mr. Bastard).
Worth reading.
