It's not every day that you see two superheroes walk down a street in full plain view, even in this age of the Avengers.

But there was the Bionic Woman and Wonder Woman bold as brass laughing and joking and having a girls' day out in California yesterday.

Of course, it wasn't really the comic book heroines but the actresses that portrayed them, Lindsay Wagner and Lynda Carter.
Superhero friends: Lindsay Wagner (The Bionic Woman) and Lynda Carter (Wonder Woman) looked sensational as they arrived for a ceremony to honour Wagner in California

They were in Palm Springs where Wagner, 62, was being honoured on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars.

She was joined by friend and fellow super-heroine Carter, 60, who is best known for her role as Wonder Woman in the Seventies TV show.

Of course, Wagner is best known for her portrayal of the Bionic Woman.

It ran from 1976 to 1978 and featured Wagner as Jaime Sommers, the girlfriend of the Six Million Dollar Man, Steve Austin.

BTW, I actually saw Linda Carter in Las Vegas in the early 80s who opened up for none other than Rich Little. I was sitting in the 1st 2 or 3 rows and had a great view of her body. Let me tell you, she could also sing! It was at the old MGM Grand Hotel.

Here's the info about the topless shot of Lynda....

First, the photo of Lynda topless IS entirely real. Second, the photo does NOT appear in Apocalypse Now, either the original or Redux.

The photo reproduced on this site is the top half of the Playboy centerfold shoot that she did when she was originally cast in Apocalypse Now (in the role later taken over by Colleen Camp). This was all explained in Playboy magazine, when they published the later centerfold shot of Colleen Camp and the photographer discussed how Lynda Carter had already posed for him before rains interrupted the film shooting and Carter had to drop out of the movie (to take on the role of Wonder Woman, actually).

The idea that there is some kind of 'photo-manipulation' going on here is simply an urban legend that is often repeated without having a close look at the facts. Some people think that the Carter centerfold is actually Colleen Camp's Playboy centerfold but with Lynda's head affixed. But those two pictures have different shirts, different jeans, different nail polish many points of difference.

The centerfold photo carried by the soldiers in all versions of the film is that of Camp, not Carter.
