Women in the Hall of Fame?????

I was just watching the Score (Hardcore Hockey Talk) with Steve Koulies, Mark Osborne and Al Strachan (no not WITH them, they were on tv) and they brought up a question i have never considered. "Should women be included in the Hockey Hall of Fame?" (or others but lets go with hockey here) All said NO but maybe they could have their own wing. Then i thought, fuck, writers, refs and builders have their spot in the Hall why shouldnt the likes of Haley Wickenheiser, Cassie Campbell, Cammi Granato ect have their spot there? I say if they made an extrodinary contribution to the game they get a spot...not a special wing. Seems straight forward to me. no?

I am a sports fan but I dont know much about hockey but my philosophy has been if you have made a major contribution to the sport than yes you should have a place in the hall of fame. A similar question was posed about Dick Lebeau in the NFL. In my opinion he has made a significant contribution to the sport of football because he was the inventor of the zone-blitz which is used by a lot of defensive coordinators in today's game. Also he's been one of the best DCs in the league for many years.

IMHO I think the entire womens Gold Medal winning team from the Salt Lake City Olympics deserve to be in the HOF. While the men's team got all the press because it was the first time for them in 40 years, the women showed exemplary fortitude and determination in the way they dominated the gold medal game. They gutted out a victory while playing short handed for 2/3 of the game. A thrilling and most deserved victory.

I have seen thousands of hockey games in my life & that easily has be the worst officiated game I have seen.

Women should be allowed in the Hockey Hall of Fame. (it's not the NHL HoF)
