Good list.

Linda McCartney had two #1 songs written for her, in 1947 "Linda" reached the top of the charts for Buddy Clark. She was only 6 years old at the time. It was later a hit for Jan & Dean who changed the music for it completely.

Then Paul McCartney had a #1 hit about her with "My Love" in 1973 - a 26 year difference!

He wrote many other songs about her as well.

I am surprised that they didn't mention more about Pattie Boyd.

Not only is she the woman behind the song "Layla", but she is also the woman behind the Eric Clapton songs, "Bell Bottom Blues", "Wonderful Tonight" and the Beatles "Something".

Apparently John Lennon, and Mick Jagger also had a thing for her...So she could be the woman behind other songs as well.

Very interesting topic. Carly Simon supposedley wrote "You're So Vain" about Warren Beatty.

The subject of the song itself has become one of the biggest enigmas in popular music, as this track also carries one of the most famous lyrics: "You're so vain/I bet you think this song is about you." Simon has never publicly admitted who the song is about. She hinted that it could be a composite of several people, and for many people the most likely "suspects" have always been Beatty or Jagger, who sings backup vocals on this recording. Simon has given vague hints over the decades to a variety of talk shows and publications, saying that riddles wouldn't be interesting if everyone knew the answers to them. On August 5, 2003, she did finally auction off the information to the winner of a charity function for a grand total of $50,000.00 USD, with the condition that the winner (a television executive, Dick Ebersol on NBC's Today Show) not reveal who it is.[6]

It wasn't about Geffen after all, she says we got it wrong. She didn't know Geffen in 1971 when the song was written.
The tease is getting old, time for her to either shut up or tell us.
