Everybody's milking that cow. What would the award have been if the kid got sick from eating under cooked chicken?

This is the problem with society these days. Always someone else’s fault. I’m underemployed because I waste my parents money on a degree that’s useless. I can’t find an affordable place to live because I’m underemployed. My my boss is a dick because he wants me to out in a full day”s work when I’d rather play video games and watch YouTube. Blah blah blah. And we have ambulance chaser lawyers who are more than willing to take on cases like these so they can earn a percentage of the payout.

As someone who eats at McD's a lot, I call BS. Only if the nuggets are straight from the fryer and dropped directly onto your leg, they would cause any burns. However, if they were that hot, wouldn't you think a normal person with a brain would move their leg so that the nugget would move away from the leg? Perhaps even pick it off?
However, in most cases the nuggets are NEVER served straight from the fryer. They cool very quickly, and by the time they are taken out, packaged, handed to the customer, and then consumed (at the very least one minute), they have cooled enough so that they won't cause a burn.
I have eaten fried chicken straight from the deep fryer with no issues whatsoever. Never had a burn.

And this is why from now on EVERYONE in the world will be forced to eat cold nuggets from McDonald's from now on. Seems like it just takes one or two people to control what the rest of us have to do/eat/say.

Or are you just agreeing that nuggets should never be served this way and any franchise who did serve it this way is at fault and deserves to be fined for being so incompetent?
Or is it the case where the facts are that this was a weird edge case and all the jury actually found is that since a Happy Meal is for kids, there should be a warning on the box about how hot the nuggets are?
Why would people eat cold nuggets now?
The jury didn't find that the nuggets were defective or that nuggets shouldn't be hot.
This isn't the Hot Coffee case, where the jury found the franchise was deliberately overheating the coffee to dangerous levels.
Even after watching the video, it's hard to imagine a chicken nugget causing those injuries. Obviously, the mother wouldn't do that to her own child. But is it possible those injuries were incurred before the incident, and the mother saw this as an opportunity to sue McDonald's to make some money?
And my comment was that McDonald's may lower the temperature at which the nuggets are served now. I love my nuggets fresh and crispy, very hot. I hope this lawsuit doesn't change anything they do.
--PS: I just read the comments on the youtube video. Everyone is agreeing that there is no way that the nuggets could have caused those injuries, including former McD workers and nurses.

Possibly.
It's more like when Lego has a warning label children 3 and under shouldn't use their toys. If a child under 3 chokes on a peice, you can't say there's no warning.
The question you have to ask then is whether any evidence was presented to show it was, in fact, the nugget.
Don't know how accessible the case is, but presumably there was medical evidence of some kind?
It would be interesting to see it.
