As a pedestrian, I yell that at drivers who almost pick me off while I cross the street at 4 way stops.

She was voice texting too not typing but it only took that split second looking away from the road at her phone. Late for a meeting. Daughter needed something at school at the same time. The direction of her car was third on her mind.

I have been guilty of this in the past but do not text or e-mail when I drive and have not done so for some time.
I have though observed a very rapid movement towards harsh treatment of those that do.

Crossing the road at a busy junction, while texting, is far more dangerous. Even fewer people realize that -- becasue there are no penalties for it.
Maybe - and I'm just blue skying here ya unnerstand - that might be because when you bump into a baby carriage while walking and texting it only results in an "oops, 'scuse me" instead of resulting in someone's dead child. That might just have something to do with it. At a guess.
Not quite true.
A driver that is texting may kill someone besides them self.
A texting pedestrian may get them self killed.
A texting driver is far more dangerous.
If this happened in Ontario male drivers would be seeing an increase in Insurance rates yesterday.
